We had the good fortune of connecting with Sajalie X and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sajalie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I keep moving forward.

When I first moved to Atlanta I was very soft in the way life works. I took everything for granted. Overtime though I began to realize life is extremely difficult and only the strong survive.

So I adopted an ideology.

No matter how hard it gets, how bad i want to quit, or how evil humans can be,

I only move forward.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m someone who makes an impact.

I’ve got my hands in many different projects within ATL that I know will shape the landscape in the future. Fashion, Music, and soon to be movies.

I’m currently creating a new artistic renaissance in Atlanta that I want to one day spread across the world.

But Atlanta will be the Mecca of all the arts. So be prepared for the future

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Home park, (underground hub) a very lowkey place within ATL, to experience the underground music scene. Every weekend they throw parties of all types of genres. I’d recommend everyone to visit it sometime.

Little 5 points, a very well known place in ATL. If you want to get your swag up, or find cool little stuff hit this block. You’ll come away from it as a different person I swear.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
iLLunderground for exposing so many artist to the culture, and creating opportunities for musicians within the underground.

1018hemphill for helping me establish my performance bag and giving me a chance to develop as a performer live. It’s a very good place for anyone who wants to open themselves up to the scene.

ProjectgoDark for helping me step my foot into the music industry. It exposed me to the many insights and struggles that goes on behind the scenes of music. It’s a great internship that I’d recommend to anyone who’s looking to join the music industry.
