We had the good fortune of connecting with Mykeela Hackett-Potter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mykeela, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My Non-Emergency Medical Transportation business assist our disabled and disadvantage Senior community with reliable and safe transportation to various medical appointments to combate exacerbated health issues from missed appointments relying on other means of transportation that arrived late or failed to show up. This causes additional out of pocket cost with no-show fees, missed medication refills among other health concerns of not following up with their health provider in a timely manner.
Our Seniors have earned the right to choose a transportation company that cares about their health disparities, not having access to transportation for our Senior and disabled community is a social determinant of health that can lead to depression, loneliness and suicidal thoughts if isolated from socialization.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In my 30+ years in healthcare I’ve read and witness our community lacking when it comes to access of healthcare and reliable transportation. My time as a Financial Counselor in a Cancer Unit witnessing patients being left for hours exhausted after treatment, or unable to make it to their necessary treatments due to the bus leaving or never showing up at all is very disheartening. As a Case Manager checking on my clients well-being ensuring they were keeping their medical appointments only to face more of the same, lack there of attempting to locate reliable transportation.
Our Seniors have taken care of us for so many years, now it’s our time to give back and take care of them they have earned the right to choose reliability instead of having inadequacies forced on them. It hasn’t been easy but I’ve listened to our community, heard what was lacking created a solution and Traveling Grace Mobility was formed. The name was chosen as Traveling Grace-meaning elegance-refinement courteous and goodwill with Grace freely given to everyone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite breakfast restaurant in the city would definitely be ABC-Atlanta Breakfast Club. That peach cobbler french toast is heavenly to say the least! Later that evening dinner at Kevin Rathburns Steakhouse on Krog street, walking on the beltline, acai bowl for dessert, lol.
Next up would be St.James Live, something about listening to a live band with soulful singers and libations wraps up a perfect evening.
