We had the good fortune of connecting with Yung Jetpacc and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yung, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?

I believe the most important factor behind the successes of myself and The Playmakers is faith. Having a dream turn into a reality required work and dedication of course, but overall faith gave The PlayMakers fuel to help grow the brand into what it is today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

Well, what sets me apart is that I do not write compositions for my beats or lyrics for my songs, so I put a lot of trust and reliability in my ears and creativity when it comes to recording. Music has been a significant factor in my life since I was young. I come from a big family of music lovers who listen to various genres and artists. As for The Playmakers, we believe in “creating moments” in studio sessions, so we do our best to build relations with who or what we are partnering with. When I did the beat for “Seals Pills” in 2018, I worked my way up to that first big placement situation and couldn’t develop the files needed for post-production in time. Luckily, the rough draft was good enough to use as a final draft and still made the record. That situation taught me much about taking my profession seriously and taking what you love for granted. When the opportunity came around again in 2019 for the “Drip or Drown 2” record, I was more prepared and organized, and “One Call” became the first single off the album.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

A good day for me starts with a visit to either the closest Waffle House or “A Broken Egg Cafe” for breakfast vibes and mimosas. After that, I’m in search of a studio that can match that vibe or better for the day. SOHO Studios, 5 Star, and Stankonia Studios are a few of my favorites. TopGolf and Bowlero are terrific spots to take a mental break during the day. There’s always something around Edgewood Ave and the Krog Street tunnel. (Remember that your nights are complete once you visit Trap City Cafe and Blue Flame several times though lol).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I wanna give a special shoutout to Turbo the Great and PlayMaker Toot, I thank them both for the loyalty and dedication that was put in for this dream to become a reality for all of us.
