We had the good fortune of connecting with Randi Glover and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Randi, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that risk taking is a huge part in starting a business. You have to be willing to do trial and error when you are starting out, because there are so many methods in the entertainment industry that could work, and I had to try more than one in order to figure out which one works best for me and my company. While trying each method out, there is an adjustment period and learning opportunities to consider when creating and then streamlining policies and procedures. Just the thought of getting started is a risk, approaching someone to be a client or business partner is a risk, but they have to be risks you are willing to take. I believe the bigger the risk the bigger the reward. I know there is always a possibility of it not working out, but the belief that the chance of it working out is greater is what makes me step out on faith and go for it. Risk is a necessary component of business and I accept and embrace it. There would be no success without risk, so it makes it worth it.

What should our readers know about your business?

All That Jazz Entertainment is an entertainment company that provides Catering, Bartending, and Event Planning services. We strive to provide an experience and set a standard that our clients will always remember. My goal is that our clients get more bang for their buck so to speak. I want them to enjoy their event, and not worry about details. The execution of the details is our job, and we take it very seriously. We will create signature cocktails for events, we take pride in our ability to provide innovative ideas for the bar. Our catering is flavorful, made from scratch recipes that are creative yet comforting and familiar. We have a unique range of dishes to choose from, some of our more popular selections are the roasted beef tips, and baked chicken.

I started with a company of one in 2017 and in 2021 I hired my first employee. Early March 2022 I began adding more employees because we were offered more opportunities. I hired students from the bartending school I teach in, and the goal has been to not only provide great service to clients and business partners, but also to provide opportunities to bartend for new graduates. This allows them to gain work experience while I am able to continue to train them; building their confidence to seek employment at other establishments. This has allowed me to take on more events and expand beyond the venues we originally partnered with.
Our dedication to bartending the right way has been a quality our business partners have appreciated, we strive to protect the venues we work with by following the rules and ensuring we provide responsible bar services. Our integrity has always been front and center and it is why we get recommended to others by our clients, and why clients come back to us as well.
Although we have faced challenges, they have not been too overwhelming, and we worked through them by evaluating our actions and making adjustments when needed. One of the ways we assess our performance is a client evaluation we ask our clients to fill out, and give their honest feedback. When they mention areas, we need to improve on I make sure we address it immediately. I also ask business partners to give feedback as well.
The biggest way I have personally ensured I am doing things the right way is by talking to individuals who are already working in this industry. Lisa Goodnight owns a catering company, LG’s Magical Affairs and I asked her about pricing and what all she includes in her services. She spent over two hours on the phone with me, going over the details of her services and prices and helped me to evaluate my own. It was so helpful and the only reason she did it was because she wanted to see me succeed.
That’s the most important lesson I have learned in business is to surround yourself with people who see you as a colleague not competition. We are all carving out our niche and we need support from others who understand what we are trying to accomplish. We need to keep each other motivated, learn from each other not prevent one another from elevating to the next level.
I want people to know All That Jazz Entertainment is here and we are just getting started!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a huge fan of The Battery in Marietta. There are restaurants and activities to enjoy. For instance there is the escape room, good game which is like top golf, bull riding and the sandbox. There are great places to eat like Wahlburger, Yard House and Cru which is a wine bar. It is a great place to just walk around and enjoy being with Braves fans if you choose to watch a game. There is so much to do you can honestly spend all day there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people who are a big part of why I am successful, starting with my parents. They are always encouraging me to go for what I want, and they have never tried to talk me out of what I want to do. In the industry there are a few people who have taken the time to mentor and encourage me as well: Dottie Bailey of Bailey’s Bartending was a huge help to me; she sat down with me for hours at a time and just poured into me and shared her secrets of success with me. She gave me pointers on how to organize my business, and even shared how she structured packages for clients with me. Shatelle Bodden, was and still to this day is one of my biggest influences. She has taken me under her wing, she has helped me find life/work balance and keeps me motivated when life gets a little overwhelming. She has been so open about her journey in entrepreneurship and guided me in my own. I would have never been able to do half the things I have done without her. My siblings, best friend and employees have played a huge part in keeping me motivated and I appreciate all the support from them, and especially the trust from each employee. I have a great team and they stand by me, with every new venture and I truly appreciate it.
