We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelvin “Wu10” Wooten and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelvin “Wu10”, what is the most important factor behind your success?
By far, humility. Embracing humility has kept me open to a culture of continuous learning. Humility has made me adaptable and innovative. I’m in constant belief that I don’t know everything or sometimes anything at all.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So I produce music across many genres , with artists at different levels of their career. I just love to be creative, with the end goal being the opportunity to continue. I don’t have a set destination, or I’ve at least taken that way. It’s all about the journey and being open to where it leads next. The music is a vehicle to communicate with people and impact lives in the most positive way possible.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout my high school band director, James Jackson. He was a very important part of musical journey in the beginning. He took extra time beyond the classroom to teach me music theory and piano. I applied this knowledge early on as I began arranging for the marching band and also my own compositions.
