Meet Trish Ahjel Roberts | Transformational Coach, Bestselling Author, and Inspirational Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trish Ahjel Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trish Ahjel, what matters most to you?
Authenticity and integrity are the principles that matter the most to me. I worked for decades in corporate environments where I couldn’t always be myself. And I’ve worked with plenty of women, and men too, who were stifled by the demands of their employers. They may have had to pretend to be someone else, or couldn’t speak out freely about dishonest business practices or social injustice.
I’m grateful that my company, Mind-Blowing Happiness LLC turns five years old this year offering books, transformational coaching, book coaching, workshops, keynotes, and retreats to help people find their voices, unlock their potential, and walk in their purpose.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Mind-Blowing Happiness offers virtual private coaching, couples’ coaching, and group coaching. We also offer book coaching for people who have a story to tell and want help to write and publish their first book.
We offer programs for organizations on the topics of Diversity, Compassion, Happiness, and Transforming Anger to Action. Our approach is unique because we combine yoga and Buddhist modalities like meditation and visualization along with coaching techniques like journaling into all of our workshops, retreats, and seminars. And, as the founder of the Black Vegan Life event brand, our retreats offer plant-based cuisine.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend were coming to Atlanta I’d have to take them to Tassili’s for a kale wrap, Stone Mountain for a hike, Jeju for massage and sauna, and Herban Fix for dinner. We’d have to catch a few classes at Stellar Power Yoga, catch up with Jaimee Ratliff for hip-hop yoga at the Home Depot Backyard, and catch a weekend run with Atlanta Track Club or West Stride. Depending on what time of year it was, I’d want to hit some of my favorite festivals like Nyemay Aya’s VeggieTaste, House in the Park, the Malcolm X Festival, and VegFest.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to the Kadampa Meditation Center of Georgia. I first walked into their Sandy Springs location back in 2010 and it changed my life. Since then, I have diligently studied and practiced Buddhist principles. My new book, “The Anger Myth: Understanding and Overcoming the Mental Habits That Steal Your Joy” is deeply rooted in Buddhist philosophy. Learning how to transform anger into either calm or constructive action has had a huge impact on my life and has become the foundation of much of my teaching in my books, workshops, and retreats.
