We had the good fortune of connecting with Davionne Coubarous and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Davionne, why did you pursue a creative career?
My love for the arts especially film and theatre, started back to my childhood. I always was the kid that imitated everyone. Family functions grocery stores I would put on a show. In the beginning it was just an outlet for me. As time went on I realized how much I needed it. There’s something special about connecting to someone else’s world then finding that piece within you that connects you to there story. Working a 9 to 5 is hard work but having something that you’re truly passionate about that allows you to think outside of the box … man sign me up any day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Acting to me is one of the most powerful forms of art. We all look for connections, that’s who we are as people looking to connect. Acting gives you the ability to do that. I have a few projects lined up that I’ve been casted in, can’t disclose much but I’m extremely excited about it. I also have an upcoming podcast in the works called Good Act Bad Act. We will be reviewing movies and tv shows interviewing others and getting their reactions in REAL time. The podcast will be launching by the summertime. I can honestly say I did not think I would ever get to where I am now. One of the biggest challenges I faced was divorcing someone I thought I would spend the rest of my life with. A change like that can literally turn your world upside down but it’s up to you to decide if it will ruin you or change you for the better. That’s what set me aside from others, my pain fuels me, I look at life in the eyes saying “is that the best you got?” Changing my mindset working on my inner voice, praying more and FORGIVENESS , that has kept me going that has kept me aligned and that is why I’m still a creative today.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re all creatives so a week of fun for us would be checking out local theatre shows, (Shakespeare Playhouse would be top on the list.) Going bike riding in the evening, taking a walk to Jackson Street Bridge for the views. Hidden gems are the absolute best places to go, if we’re talking food you can not go wrong with The Bando. Wings are amazing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout my grandmother , Carol Coubarous. This amazing woman would bring me to my auditions, sit with me , help me rehearse my scenes. Listen to stories that I would write, proofread my own scripts the list goes on, she truly means the absolute world to me and I appreciate her support but most of all I’m grateful for her unconditional love.
