We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsey S. (Vibelikeyagirl) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsey, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I honestly feel like I didn’t have a choice! I went a few different routes, and it was always with the idea of “this will make me the most money”, “this will fund my lifestyle”. When I took the time to ask myself, what I could see myself doing for life, what I was passionate about, thats when I focused in on a creative career. Theres something that I find so peaceful in the chaos of creativity, its where I feel the most myself. You cant avoid what’s meant for you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Id say my style of art is multi-disciplinary, and that reflects in both my business and podcast. It doesn’t surprise me much because I deem myself a pretty versatile person, my passion for creativity shows in different ways. Some more public than others which was always the hard part for me, CREATING was never hard it was having the motivation to share my creations with the public eye. Its like putting something you love greatly into the line of fire, up for “debate” in a sense. I honestly don’t think anything in particular helped me overcome this, more than anything it was giving myself grace and letting passion overcome fear. I believe overall to get where I am professionally, which is no where close to where I’ll be come due timing came from perseverance, accepting and loving the journey, and pushing myself that extra mile even when I have doubts, taking those risks for something I believe in, which is myself and my vision for my brand(s).

Theres nothing specific that I’d like the world to know about my brand or my story, I think everyone will have their own interpretation no matter what and thats the beauty in art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a very easily satisfied person when it comes to enjoying myself, the best time ever to me can simply be a walk. Of course, food would have to be involved, I’d say a restaurant binge for sure. Stop at some local scenic spots to enjoy the vibes, get some content, network and just relax.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everyone I surround myself with. My loved ones, my friends, family. They are my TEAM. They deserve the most thanks, they have helped shaped me into the person I needed to become to pursue the hard task that running a business is. They’ve given me reason to push myself even when I’ve been at breaking points! Always centering me back to who I am, and my purpose in passion in my work. I would like to specifically highlight one of my good friends, Sadaya. I have always been a “I’ll do it myself” type of person, and even though she knows that she finds every way possible to be my helping hand when I need it. She shows up, and thats one of the most important things in my opinion that you NEED when you’re creating something from the ground up, you need that unconditional help.
