We had the good fortune of connecting with James Bush and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi James, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The pivotal factor behind my success, or the success of my brand, lies in the investment I made in myself. Years ago, I found myself in a toxic work environment driven solely by unattainable metrics and constantly shifting goals. During a company meeting, the CEO, while expressing gratitude for our efforts, dashed any hopes of improvement in our pay or work conditions. It was a scene we were sadly accustomed to. However, amidst his speech, one statement resonated deeply with me, even 14 years later: ‘Our customers don’t return because of our facilities or resources; there’s nothing inherently special about them. In fact, you can find similar services online. Our customers return for you. You are the product.’ That moment marked my realization that I am the product, and for my ‘brand’ to flourish, I needed to invest in myself.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When you arrive with in the city metro Atlanta area stop by a Waffle House (anyone). The table will be wet and the servers will throw hands, but the food is always good for the price. Monday night head to Magic City to get some wings. Tuesday morning head down to “Grits & Eggs Breakfast Kitchen then go visit the King Center and Dr. Martin Luther Kings home. Later that night head over to Bar Vegan. Wednesday maybe hit up the Breakfast Boys in College Park then grab a city-pass to see the World of Coke and The Georgia Aquarium. When you get hungry head up to the Westin hotel and The Sundial Spinning bar. Thursday, go to Gotchas or Poor Calvin’s and Tour the AUC. Finally, on Friday take a walk along the Beltline and grab some lemon pepper wings, wet, all flats!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my former students. When I moved to Atlanta I taught at vocational colleges helping young men and women to change their lives with a new skill. Nightly they wold allow me to pour into them not only my knowledge of the healthcare industry but also words of wisdom and hope. Teaching them was a constant reminder to always be grateful and humble. It was truly amazing to see how just a short 9 -12 month program could change not only change the lives of my students but their immediate families. I had the chance to touch so many lives and in turn I was also touched by them. I can’t name them all but I can’t thank them enough.
