We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamilia Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamilia, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Nothing worth having seldom comes easy. I was always taught, if you want something bad enough, you will work hard enough to get it. Your mentality should be forward focus. A tunnel vision. A “nothing can stop me” type of mindset. The reason being, so that you can pep-talk yourself through those times where you feel like you want to give up, to throw in the towel, or to second guess if your purposed for this.

If you are purpose for the journey than you must keep going. You must persevere. You must utilize your faith, passion, tenacity and support system to see your vision through. There is greatness down on the inside of you! Its up to you to dig deep, stretch your faith, seek wise counsel and believe what God has purposed for you to do on this earth. Giving up is not an option. Don’t you know that there is greatness on the inside of you! 1John 4:4 states, greater is He that is in you is greater than he who is in the world. You must keep going! You must know that you got this!

If your passion exudes through your gifts, this is your sign that it is not time for you to give up. It just may mean that you need to reset. A time to regroup, pray, strategize, breathe, acquire skilled professionals in your field for help to execute your end goal. You must know that nobody can work your gift like you can! You are one of a kind, extra-ordinary, unapologetically unique! What you have to offer is needed! So, block the chatter, stop self-sabotaging and walk boldly in what your called to do! The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. Of course, distractions will come but they must not hinder you from your purpose, your assignment, or your end goal.

If you have prayed about it, seek wise counsel, regrouped, lost passion, or simply received a word to let it go and you found peace within it, than its ok to bow out gracefully. It doesn’t make you less than. It just means your assignment has ended and new one has begun. It doesn’t mean that you failed. It just means that you grew through those challenges that are preparing you for your next. Romans 8:28, All things work together for our good, for those who are called according to His purpose.

Not only do we provide a quality product, but we are known to provide excellent packaging, and if you need it personalized, we can provide that, too! We love that our customers get to experience both. Starting and maintaining a business is not easy. Let’s be honest, running is business is hard work. You work harder for yourself than you work for any other employer. It’s definitely not the easy way out, but it’s quite rewarding. The joy that you feel when your customers enjoy your product. I am very passionate about baking. I love to bring happiness through the products that I create. The lessons that I learned along the way is to not quit. I had an awesome example, my grandmother, the late Ms. Rosie Smart, who taught me through her life as a restaurant owner of 14 years that quitting wasn’t an option. To show up for yourself each and every day, no matter what comes your way.

Last, I want everyone to know that at “It’s Cookie-tastic Bakery”, we take great pride in delivering a great quality product that our customers can truly experience and enjoy. As I stated before, we want to leave our customers with an unforgettable experience by “making every bite count”.

What sets It’s Cookie-tastic Bakery apart is that we put a lot of love, passion, and creativity in our brand. Did I mention? Our products are made from scratch. We strive to give our best at all times. If it is not right, we will not put it out.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Life can be so hectic at times. We often forget to stop and embrace the process. Being that my bestfriend would be here for a week, we would either go to Andretti’s, Activate, Main Event, or Sky Zone. Our main objectives is to have fun, enjoy each other and relax all at the same time if that makes any sense. Bumper cars, bowling, sky diving, laser tag, video games, shopping, eating, relaxation and much laughter is definitely apart of our agenda for the week. Next, we would either unwind at the following: Waldorf Astoria, Treat Your Feet, Studio Movie Grill, Girl Mobb Museum, or Balloon Museum. For food, (lunch or dinner) we would would either go to Jalisco, Pretti Plates Brunch Bar, Infusion Crab, Prime, MCK, Katch or Underwater Restaurant. We definitely could not end the week without having gone to the following: “Its Cookie-tastic Bakery”, ByLeCreme Home, and Buckhead Village.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Nothing is possible without God! God, thank you for keeping me! Shout out to my grandmother, the late Mrs. Rosie Smart, for being such a great example.

I would also like to give shout outs to my parents: Clarence and Dr. Diane Thomas. Any idea, or business venture I’ve had, they have supported me 100%. For that, I am beyond grateful for them. My siblings: Lee, Craig, Cheree’, Dante, and Dr. Djana Goss who has pushed my brand to their friends, extended family and even their co-workers. My niece Ms. Camille Thomas who doesn’t mind letting everyone know about her “Tee Tee” cookies! My Apostle, Dessirrae Savage for her consistent prayers and encouragement. Dr. Orienthia Speakman for consistently reminding me to keep moving forward, challenging me to continue to grow in uncomfortable areas, and for her consistent support. Latorial, Tareon and JaKeya, thank you for your push and being my cheerleaders! There are too many to name but I definitely want to shout out and sincerely thank my family, friends, and associates who have consistently supported, promoted, or assisted me in anyway with my business. Thank you for putting It’s Cookie-tastic Bakery in rooms we have yet to physically walk in. For that, I am very thankful. Shout out to this jewel, Monique Davis for the prestigious opportunity I received in 2023.

Last but certainly not least, thank you to my outstanding, awesome, one of kind, bomb customers and supporters. Thank you for choosing “It’s Cookie-tastic Bakery” as your preferred bakery. We do not take it lightly and we sincerely appreciate your support and business tremendously! There are no amount of words to express my gratitude towards you all. Thank you! You all are the absolute best customers and supporters ever!!!!
