We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenny B Da Great and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenny B, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The time that goes into the craft. There is no blueprint to music & people think just because you are talented you will wake up rich and famous. It takes a lot of patience. You will spend a lot before you make a lot.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’d consider my artistry unique and authentic. I’ve been around music and creating since I was young. I feel I’m different in sound while understanding music inside and out. I’m proud of the growth and dedication I’ve put into myself with the music. I think the biggest challenge for me to overcome is myself. Meaning it’s easy to get in your own way and sometimes you have to just let go, be free, and not worry about the x’ & o’s so much. Best solution for that to me is just live in the moment, bet on yourself, and don’t overthink it so much. It’s easy being your own worst critic.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My team is intimate with movements so it would probably be something off the grid like playing spades, hooping, of course studio & etc. although we pop out from time to time to different bars & lounges. Just depends on the vibe we going for.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For sure, dedications & shout outs to my parents , my daughter , and my team. Those group of people keep me going.
