We had the good fortune of connecting with Sonia Emore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
To begin with my business A Time To Create, LLC definitely keeps me busy professionally. There’s a lot that goes into running a business. Filing paperwork, paying fees, building partnerships and so much more are few of the things I do behind the scenes. As I sit here pondering on this question, and thinking about all the work that goes into my business, I can honestly say I’m grateful. Because A Time To Create makes a difference in this world, and it will continue to long after I’m gone. So even though I’m constantly busy with all the work that goes into my business, I know it’s worth it.
My heart is to provide children with a safe space for creative expression and emotional healing. My love for the arts and passion for helping children, lead me to start a company that champions creativity, self-expression, and emotional healing for generations to come. Celebrating 7 years of A Time To Create is a testament to staying faithful and enduring through the trials.
Running a business, as many know, comes with its challenges—financial constraints and limited resources at times. However, I’ve learned to be content with what I have. This sometimes meant juggling a second job to meet financial obligations while simultaneously nurturing different aspects of my business. The key lesson learned was endurance, refusing to give up when faced with adversity.
I want the world to know that, for me, success is not measured by the number of followers I have or the balance in my bank account. Instead, it’s defined by the lives I’ve positively impacted while navigating the path of fulfilling my God-given purpose. Success, in my eyes, is a reflection of the meaningful connections and positive influence I’ve made along my journey.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, we’d have such a great time! We’d start out the week by checking out some breakfast places either Flying Biscuit, Waffle House or IHOP, I’m pretty simple, I don’t need anything fancy.
Next on the agenda, a trip to Sandbox for some fun virtual reality games, followed by dinner, as we explore additional food spots. Given our love for food, a must-stop would be Tre Vele in Sandy Springs to try their famous cheese wheel pasta. I’ve been wanting to go there for a while.
As the week continues, we’d make our way to 3rd spot and play some of the games and take cute pictures. Next, we’ll grab some dinner from one of the local restaurants. To wrap up this amazing week, we’d probably binge watch a show on Netflix, while eating cake and ice-cream. I need to make this happen, definitely sounds like a great time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to extend a heartfelt shoutout to my incredible support system—my friends, family, and supporters. Their unwavering encouragement has been the anchor of my journey. In moments when my dreams seemed overwhelming, my friends encouraged me, reminding me of my God given gifts. They not only encouraged me to persevere but emphasized how these gifts could positively impact not just me but countless others. Whenever I wanted to give up, their support helped lift me up and provided me with the strength to persevere.
My family, though it took some time for them to fully embrace my entrepreneurial and artistic path, has stood by me. Their acceptance and support, now wholehearted, mean the world to me. They contribute in the best way they can, and their presence gives me the strength to keep going.
A special acknowledgment goes to my supporters—partnerships, students, parents—who have been a part of my business, A Time To Create, LLC. Whether enrolling in my self-expression songwriting programs or generously contributing to the projects I undertake, their involvement has been instrumental. I’m forever grateful to the countless individuals who have joined me on this journey. While it’s impossible to name everyone, each person holds a special place in my heart. I appreciate every single one of you.
