Meet BeatsByHod | Music Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with BeatsByHod and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi BeatsByHod, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
At a young age, I become inspired to do music, it’s always been my passion and something I always wanted to be a part of. I started off rapping at first, really wasn’t inspired by too many at the time. I just know I wanted to make music and have fun with it. I started recording myself when I was in elementary school using a tape cassette. As I got older, I started using programs on the computer, teaching myself the basics of the program enough to where I could get the sound to come back out of the computer speakers and hooking it up to the computer to get a recording signal. I enjoyed using a small board to record. I liked the quality of how it came out.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my creativity, I feel like when I create I’m going to a whole other world like I’m not even here on this earth anymore. I feel like me having my own style push me in my own lane, even though I was influenced by Shawty Redd, I turned that into my own sound.
I’m really proud of myself, because I never gave up even though I’m not where I want to be. I never gave up on myself and I never had any type of negative thoughts. I remember as I was coming up other producers around me would make comments about Quittin and I couldn’t understand why they would want to do something like that, especially when they was in a higher position than I was..
I got to where I am today, just by being humble and staying focused, and also just being consistent and believing in myself.
For me, I really didn’t have any challenges as I came up in my career. I never really looked at anything as a challenge. I just did me and had fun.
Coming up a lot of lessons that I learn with what I do is just to be original and build your brand to where people respect it and they demand product from you.
I want the world to know that my brand is original and organic, built from nothing into becoming something, a growing plant as I would say, I’m still working on building my brand now to a higher level I know what type of work is going to take for me to get it where I want it to be but with all the faith that I have, I know that I’ll get there.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a best friend that came into town and they wanted to have a good time I probably would take them to Edgewood to a spot called “Our Bar”. Is definitely a cool vibe inside of there. You know people doing what they do. A lot of positive people just coming to have fun. When it comes to food, I will probably take them to a good vegan spot or something to close to it.
It’s a lot of cool places to hang out in Atlanta. It’s really just about going to where the good vibes are.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout to the new team I just recently joined. We go by SEI which means Steam Entertainment Inc, its a team of producers with such a unique sound. Its about 20 of us or more and we all come from a different regions throughout the world. From producers as young as 14 and up, we like one big family and we are all dedicated to our craft and all about building a strong foundation. Being apart of the label, has been inspiring me to grow bigger and keep creating a more unique sound to add on to the brand.
