We had the good fortune of connecting with Dana Cureton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dana, what do you attribute your success to?
My Grandmother(Claudine) always was the place where everyone came and ate or showered. She would say they don’t know where there next meal/shower was coming from but you do so always put the needs of others before yours and God will reward you in the end.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently working and living in my dream to assist one of the Greatest African American principal in Conyers, Georgia(Dr. Erica Wakefall) and running Sunshine Pantry that serves the entire Rockdale County. I am able to make sure the children don’t go home hungry or go without clothes or shoes. I get to make sure the children have proper hygiene on a daily basis and if they need love or hugs Ms D got them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Sunday we would visit Redemptive Life Christian Fellowship in Conyers, Georgia where(Dr. Mark Thompson)is my Leader.  Pascal in Atlanta for brunch to eat some catfish and greens with fatback…lol..Monday we would eat from my Sweet Boutique in Winder, Georgia where we would have some amazing treats like a blast from your past of Ole school candy and snacks. Tuesday,  we would visit my niece restaurant in Loganville, Georgia (Cameals Cuisine) for some good Lamb Chops.. Wednesday we would stay at my favorite Hotel Ritz-Carlton downtown Atlanta.Friday we go across the street to Sweet Georgia Juke Joint and end Saturday night at St James live where we would end with live Jazz.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
