We had the good fortune of connecting with Lamont Mosley II and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lamont, what are you inspired by?
I’m actually inspired by many things, one being the people that I surround myself with. That can be anywhere from family to friends and down to my sweet dog Laylah. One of my biggest influences is my close circle of friends. We’ve got that great sense of community and I can say honestly my tribe is dope. I have so many different people from different walks of life that it makes me appreciate where I’ve been and where I’m going. I’m also inspired by way of other artists. Seeing their creativity and individuality and how they can create a masterpiece out of the little pieces they’ve been given. Another inspiration is definitely my home church which is Embassy City run by Apostle Bryan Meadows, and his wife Patrice Meadows. Embassy City is an apostolic ministry that’s called to cultivate and extract the gifts on the inside of you and push you towards purpose. I feel like that’s a great indication of who I am today, a person who creates, who engages and pushes, as well as inspires young believers in the faith. Another great aspiration of mine is music. Music has so many properties that it is endless and I love that I have people that I can look up to for inspiration. Some phenomenal artists like Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Brandy, Todd Galberth ,Usher and other influential artists, are who I gleam from . My last inspiration comes from the Bible . I love God, I love Jesus and I love his word. The Bible is just a tangible incredible illustration of his work. The Bible is so inspirational because it literally captivates so many different stories, personalities, walks of life as well as different trials, turmoil, and tribulations that we go through. I believe it’s something that we can pull creativity from as well as be encouraged and inspired.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

Funny enough for me it is hard to pick one selection. I am a medical professional by day and worship leader on the weekends. I actually work at Georgia Cancer specialist affiliated with Northside Hospital. I work in a hematology/oncology clinic and it has been an amazing roller coaster ride. Has it been easy yes and no but it has been rewarding to say the least to be able to help people change their lives. I would say one thing I’ve had to overcome is my fear of the unknown and I say that because we have patience who come into our office every day not knowing when it’ll be over ,not knowing when they’ll be able to stop treatments, not knowing when they’ll be free . Like the Bible says no man knows the hour or the time and just because we don’t know that ending hour doesn’t mean we can’t live every moment like it is our last . What I’ve learned along the way is to be resilient and to bounce back, no matter the circumstance ,no matter what you face, no matter what you go through but that if you’re still breathing then they’re still a fight in you. If you’ve got a fight in you then you still have a chance to overcome any adversity, any obstacles or circumstance heading your way.

As far as ministry goes, being highly adaptable to any situation is a crucial skill that you can develop as an artist or musician. The more flexible you are, the more valuable you become as an artist because any and everything can happen and you have to be prepared for it all.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So I live in Atlanta but I don’t live in Atlanta lol I actually live a few minutes outside of the city so we have to travel to the city for the experience. I would definitely take them to Atlantic Station because that’s like the number one stop-shop for fun, eating , shopping and entertainment. I would also take them to West Midtown. It’s an up and coming developing community where they have a lot of different restaurants ,activities that you can do as a family as well as activities that you can do with friends and it’s just all around fun . I would also take them to perimeter mall which is a mall in Sandy Springs, Georgia . Sandy Springs is a developing area and this is one of the best malls in Georgia to me. I would also take them to World of Coke and to the Georgia Aquarium because I feel like everyone that visits has to experience the Coca-Cola history because it is amazing and the aquarium is right across the street and who wouldn’t want fish swimming above their head. In Atlanta brunch is a staple as far as restaurants I love Negril Atlanta, it’s a nice Caribbean style restaurant . They have amazing food and the oxtails are to die for. Another brunch and dinner spot I would recommend is Poor Calvin, it’s an amazing place right in the center of downtown. They are usually busy but great with getting people in and out and letting them have an enjoyable dining experience. A newfound love of mine is Korean BBQ and I like it because you get to cook your own food but you also get to experience another culture within the subculture of Atlanta. I may be from Miami,FL but I can confidently say we would have a good time .If you would like to do something more outdoors we can go to The Rooftop on Ponce City market or go to Centennial Park, Piedmont Park, or hiking up Stone Mountain. At the end of the day I would find a local ice cream shop where we will conclude our day in the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my parents. They never gave up on me and always continued to push me even when they didn’t understand. They always knew I had greatness on the inside of me and I would be remiss if I didn’t honor them for all their hard work, love and support. Love yall so much and Thank you for everything that you’ve done.

I would also like to shout out Jonathan and Leandrea Driver, they’ve been a literal driving force lol and have pushed me towards my purpose and believing in my life, and always giving me room to express what God has given me. Love y’all and thank you for your continued support.
