We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Lee Zeno and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie Lee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind me starting my own business was, “I have to help people. I have to make people feel good and better about themselves, so how can I go about it?”. I never knew or even imagined that I would be here helping others regain confidence, control, love, and more, for themselves. It’s truly rewarding and fulfilling when I see people looking and feeling better about themselves. When I see them making necessary changes and developing healthier habits…. It’s heartwarming. So that was the whole thought process, wanting to help others and be an outlet. Wanting to be able to provide them with the necessary resources they need to make changes on all levels. This is why I became an esthetician, a life coach, an entrepreneur, a leader.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So my work entails the mind, body, and soul through beauty and wellness. People think of beauty and wellness and automatically think that it’s one or the other and don’t realize they go hand in hand. Beauty isn’t a physical thing. Beauty is all-encompassing. Through my work, I’m sure to bring forth the beauty in a person, inside and out.
I took on beauty and wellness as an esthetician and as a life coach. This is where beauty meets wellness. What I do is take those that want to look and feel better about themselves, and I provide them with the necessary resources, while advising them and guiding them to their goals. People come in and lack self-esteem, motivation, inspiration, etc., I help them love themselves again.
My work as a coach is to help you internally and manifest the goals and dreams you have always dwelled on. I help people develop healthier habits, work on their inner selves, shift their mindset to attract better circumstances for themselves, build better relationships with others, look at themselves in the mirror and give themself more grace and love. When I see their hard work paying off, it’s truly fulfilling. The people around them start to notice the changes and in turn, it makes them feel good.
As an esthetician, I help them with their physical. We all have those physical flaws that we cannot seem to embrace and so they come to me looking for change. It is my job to help accentuate their beauty and make them feel confident, reassured, and fierce about themselves. At my beauty and wellness spa, Jaylee’s Beauty Lounge, we offer a variety of treatments for everyone. We combine beauty and wellness and people leave feeling renewed and peaceful. We offer wellness services such as; massage, nutrition testing, DNA testing for allergies, and more. Of course the beauty side is facials, injectables, treatments for scars, and more.
Overall, I am happy that I can bring about something for everyone. Literally, everyone! I love what I do and who I do it for and I think that’s what sets me aside from the rest. The fact that I came into this industry to help others and not for the money. Sure, the money is nice because becoming an entrepreneur you end up investing a lot, so it is nice to get it back but….. the primary reason, my clients. Seeing them happy, living their best life, and loving themselves. This is who and why I do it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would absolutely take them to Salem, Massachusetts! If you love witchy things and history, that’s the place to go! I also love some local restaurants out here in Westchester. Some of my faves are:
– Half Moon
– Harvest On Hudson
– Dolphin
– Wood and Fire Pizza
– Maggie Spillane’s
These are some nice spots with nice views, not to mention the food is amazing! I’m a foodie! Lol.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I mean to be honest, I have had so much support from so many people. I can name a few and those who aren’t mentioned, please don’t take offense!!! Lol. First and foremost….. mom and dad. They have always been my biggest fans and always supported all of my ideas and decisions no matter how crazy or basic they may have been. They have always made me feel unstoppable. Their love and support is truly unconditional and I cannot ever repay them in this lifetime for everything they have done and continue to do. I love you mom and dad!!
Next, I’d have to say my cousin Dimas who is more like my big brother. We insult each other on a daily basis like siblings, lol, but he is always there no matter what. He is always the reasoning behind my thoughts. He gives his opinion (solicited and unsolicited, lol), and on a drop of a dime, I can count and rely on him. I’ll never admit to him that I love him lol. Although, he will read it here. All jokes aside, he’s been a great support to me and I can always bet that he has my back from start to finish.
Lastly, the love of my life, AP. I don’t know what I would do without his voice of reasoning and his logic. He has supported me and honestly, motivated me more than he knows. He is a man that is about business and is the hardest worker in the room. His drive fuels me to go harder every time. In fact, we have that relationship that just inspires and motivates one another, it’s truly amazing. His love has carried me on the worst days. His love has pushed me through during the times I wanted to take the easy way out and throw in the towel. I don’t know what I would do without him but I don’t have to wonder because he’s stuck with me, lol.
The rest would go to my close friends who show up each and every time for me without question. They know who they are. They continue to remind me of how proud they are of me. Their love and support is unmatched. I love you guys!
