Meet Armel Thierry Konguep | CEO & Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Armel Thierry Konguep and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Armel Thierry, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was guided by my mom when she retired as a World Bank Group Officer to be involved in Africa socioeconomic development issues and during a trip to Sierra Leone, I felt the desire to do something in Africa to curb and have my print in development matters in this very rich but apparently poor continent. I decided to start an international consulting firm named TAK Enterprises Group, LLC. that deals with most important things lacking in Africa or very poorly exploited due to the lack of financial resources and know-how: trade and investment forums.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
TAK Enterprises Group, LLC is an Atlanta-based international consulting firm specialized in a diverse range of consulting and professional services devoted exclusively to promote socioeconomic development in Africa via private sector activities. Our services are:
Market Search
Market Entry Strategy
Management
International Consulting
Investment and Trade Promotion
Finance and Accounting
What sets us apart from others is that our consultants are nationals of the countries in which they consult, and they are hand-picked and high performers, with exceptional experience in the field. As a team, we are proud of how we touch people’s lives and delivering projects/programs on time. I am always excited learning new business approaches, partnering with experts in my domain for experience and knowledge exchange, getting new projects/programs and designing innovative methodologies to tackle difficulties. The journey was not easy because I made a lot of learning mistakes, and every country has their local challenges. I did overcome many of these challenges we faced through prayers and take every bit of them as an opportunity. and finally, by setting achievable goals. The lessons learned along the way helped to seek advice and support from others and build up a positive mind-set. What I really want the world to know about me or my brand is the value added and the contribution with outstanding impact we bring to each country we serve, all of them guided under the principles of excellence, integrity, transparency, accountability, fairness in order to make our projects/program sustainable.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the National Center for Civic and Human rights, the world of coca cola, Georgia Aquarium and depending of the time of the year I would take them to Mercedez-Benz stadium. For food, I would take them to Rose Bistrot & Champagne Bar in Mid-town, Atlanta Breakfast Club and Rodley’s Jamaican Soul Food.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am grateful to the Lord, Jesus Christ, my wife, my children, Former Commissioner Robert Wood, Dr. Alan Chaps., and of course to my mom. During my professional career in several organizations and institutions, I have so many who have guided and mentored me to be the leader that I am today.
