We had the good fortune of connecting with Tina F. Foy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my own business because I wanted to be able to provide quality skin care products. I wanted to be an entrepreneur and ultimately create jobs for my community. Starting my own business has always been a dream of mine. I am so excited that I finally took the leap and as scary as it was, I know its worth it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my cosmetics line because I love fashion and makeup. I wanted to create something that would be affordable but also good for different skin types. I am proud of my skincare/makeup line, it’s a quality product. It’s is cruelty free and vegan friendly. I got where I am today by not giving up and also because of an awesome support system. It was not easy, Its time consuming and stressful with long nights, and thoughts of giving up, but I overcame a lot of my challenges with a lot of praying, support and motivation. I’ve learned a couple of things along the way. For example: never be afraid to ask for help, some times things don’t come easy, and never give up on your dream.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area I would take them to 5Chruch Midtown for breakfast, Centennial Olympic Park. Next, we would stop by Phipps Plaza and eat at Cafe Bistro for lunch. Then, we would visit the Martin Luther King Center.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my husband Ken. Without his support, love and encouragement, I would not have made it this far. Thank you for believing in me, for being my biggest cheerleader and always pushing me to do better. Thank you for helping me to keep things in order when things get stressful and for trying my products and giving feedback. Additionally, thank you for balancing our home life with our work life. My aunt Sheron and my sister from another mother Kate were the first people to ever try my products and were willing to put their faith in me. They have been there from the beginning and always show support through thick and thin! They have been so encouraging along the way. Their willingness to help me out has meant so much to me!
