We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawn Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shawn, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
My definition of success is about progression with no days off. It’s about 24/7/365 plus one. My successful journey is to get on stage and perform, but, I did my stage debut at the Northside Tavern. It really changes my life as an independent and local blues artist.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a singer, songwriter, blues harmonica player, and performer. I learned so many lessons in life and in music, but the best lesson is to keep going, keep practicing and never give up. I’ve been going through so much through the years. I have overcome the pain since my mom died in 2010, my aunties died in 2017 & 2021. I must believe in God, and I want to do it for the love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots must be Blind Willie’s and Northside Tavern.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give some shoutouts to the Atlanta Blues Society, my family, my friends, my musical colleagues, my supporters and especially, the fans. Without you, nothing will be possible.
