We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Pols and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
Defiantly when we decided to move to the states in 2010. Leaving everything behind in Germany, we arrived in Tennessee with only 2000 Dollars, 4 suitcases, two little kids, a dog, and a cat. We had nothing, but we believed it was worth it. Through hard work, perseverance, and embracing both the challenges and joys, we made a new life for ourselves.!

What should our readers know about your business?
Honestly, I stumbled into photography more by chance. It started as a hobby, taking photos for family and friends. I was always too shy to turn it into a business and never planned on doing photography full time. But then, I received an amazing opportunity to be the horse show photographer for the East TN cutting and North East Alabama Cutting Show. It made me think, “Nicole, if not now, when?” So, I took the opportunity this year and Nicole Pols Photography was born. Now, I cover shows ranging from dressage to ranch horses, and of course, my beloved cutting horses. I absolutely love every second of it, even though it often means long nights.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am grateful for the encouragement and support I received from many people to take this big step in my life this year. Their words of encouragement made me braver than I thought I could be. I appreciate every client who books me and it brings me joy to hear when they are happy with their photos. Their satisfaction makes my heart jump.
