We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Bolden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I hope to leave a legacy of love, respect, kindness, the spirit of entrepreneurship, servicing God and the community to my son. I hope to also leave behind the work of Call For Caring to touch the lives of family caregivers across the nation who need support in caring for their loved ones. We hope to empower caregivers through knowledge, resources, and a community of support for generations to come.
I pray people remember I sought to live out God’s plan for my life through caring and giving to others in need and loving family and friends.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In 2017, the work of Call For Caring developed based on the need of families caring for loved ones in their homes but not having the resources to be successful. These resources include knowledge about their loved ones’ disease; managing the complexity of healthcare – Medicare/Medicaid, SSI – Disability, insurance plans, medical appointments; the challenges of legal matters; financial support due to limited or loss of income; and the community to physically support their journey.
We sought to meet these needs by bringing the resources to one location, the Atlanta Family Caregiver Expo, for family caregivers to connect and improve their lives and lives of their loved ones. As the number of caregivers has grown, the mission of Call For Caring has grown as well. We have expanded our platforms to include virtual and in-person training, caregiving coaching, podcasts, and care scholarships. Our care scholarships provide funds for respite care, allowing caregivers time to recharge and engage in self-care.
We are proud of the ability to reach family caregivers across the nation and world through our podcasts – Call For Caring on Purpose and The Empowerment Hour. We are excited to also expand our Family Caregiver Expo from Atlanta to include Chicago soon!
Our organization’s mission is executed by volunteers and partners who are inspired by improving the lives of the families we support. We welcome organizations to join us in meeting the needs of this often underrepresented population.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I want to dedicate this Shout Out to my amazing family – James J., Mary Alice, Karen, Pamela, James B., and Alonzo. I was blessed to be raised in a family that continues to love and support one another through great and challenging times. They have prayed, financed, worked, challenged, and supported my entrepreneurial journey, motivating me to achieve more.
