We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Camp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natasha, how do you think about risk?
Risk is what you’re willing to do to put yourself out there. Risk is what I take every time I create content to put out there on social media. I’m thankful I took the risk of actually putting myself out there, and showing the world what I love to do. It’s definitely opened a lot of opportunities for me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
After I had my daughter I was on a rediscovery journey. I needed to figure out some things I was good at. One of the things that stuck was makeup. I always had a liking for it, and how it enhances the beauty I already had. That makeup is true art. Discovering what I could do with it was truly amazing and refreshing. It gets discouraging sometimes when my engagement is low, but what keeps me going is being recognized by my peers and brands both big and small. I’ve learned to never give up. I want people to do whatever makes you happy no matter what. Don’t worry about who isn’t noticing you or supporting you. Focus on just continuing your path of growth. Never stop and always remember why you started this in the first place.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Me and my best friend love food. She’s probably a little bit more experimental than me when it comes to food, but I do trust her because she knows her food. The places that I would go for a lifetime is Desta, an Ethiopian Restaurant and Southern Gentleman both of them in which she introduced me to. And just enjoying the scenery of the belt line, because we definitely have to work off some of that food. We’re both from Atlanta so we’re pretty familiar with the city, I’m probably a little bit more than she because I worked in the downtown area for years and there’s not one place I haven’t been. It’s just always good vibes there.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My supporters. I’m so thankful for my supporters, because they motivate me to keep going. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have the platform that I do. The brands I’ve worked with and currently are working with wouldn’t have noticed me. Plus they help fuel more ideas for me to execute. I owe it all to them.
