We had the good fortune of connecting with grant wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi grant, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to help give customers a peace of mind on where their glass recycling is going. Parts of Atlanta do not accept glass in their recycling and that’s for good reason. The only way to properly recycle glass 100% is to do it separately and that’s what I’m offering! Additionally a lot of our customers actually have the option to use the city’s services but they choose to use mine for that purpose. I like to make it affordable at just $25/month so it doesn’t break the bank and gives you that peace of mind that your glass is getting recycled properly each and every time.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
This is my first year with the company and I’m excited for many more to come. As far as I can tell I’m one of the only companies that does door to door glass pickup. Glass is infinitely recyclable so I’m here to spread the message that it’s better to recycle glass a million times than to have it sit in a landfill for a million years. For $25/month you can give yourself peace of mind that your glass is going to the good place!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Most of my customers are in East Atlanta and Renyoldstown so I’d invite them to the East Atlanta Village for food/drinks and then drop by the Beltline for an afternoon stroll.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
credit goes out to Strategic Materials for recycling the glass, R. Land for designing my logo, and my Atlanta customers for wanting to go the extra mile and ensure their glass is getting recycled the right way! Also shoutout to my son Gus who is the catalyst for the company. I want him to grow up in a world that isn’t on fire so our one small step to help the environment may help him out in the long run.
