We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenifer Jay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenifer, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

My entrepreneurial spirit was nurtured from a young age. At just 14, I began working in my father’s construction company at the age of 14, where I was trained in every area of the business, one step at a time. Starting with manual bookkeeping tasks, I gradually transitioned through various roles, including writing payroll checks, dispatching, process design, and even serving as a foreman in the field.

When computers were introduced, I quickly said this manual madness has to stop and I transformed our manual processes into digital ones. I was trained by my father to think creatively and strategically. This comprehensive and hands-on experience laid the foundation for my future endeavors and shaped my understanding of business operations.

My ability to start a business and my business acumen lead to a knack for technology and automation, which led my friends to seek my assistance in starting their businesses, sparking her entrepreneurial journey.

Recognizing a gap in the industry for Systems & Automations, I started Premier Business Systems. My vision is to help entrepreneurs and small business owners streamline their internal systems and processes and automate them. My experience shows that entrepreneurs and small business owners do not know there is a better way and I am here to provide them with a better way.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

My Business is Premier Business Systems and we focus on helping small to midsize businesses gain back a minimum of 20 hours per week, while enabling seamless payment collection and client onboarding without tech overwhelm. My approach is rooted in quality and customization, ensuring that clients are not left to fend for themselves. My aim is to free business owners from micromanaging and being the bottleneck in their operations, allowing them to live their best lives.

I was tired of seeing entrepreneurs receive strategies without knowing how to implement them. I have been to YouTube University and even with my degree in Information Systems, some of the training videos were confusing and disconnected for me, so I knew there was no way that most people would understand them. So I started creating educational videos that were both entertaining and educational, what they call edutainment. I get it systems, processes and tech are not sexy but they are required to maintain a sustainable business.

The thing that sets me apart is that my experience and expertise speaks to itself. I’m a studious learner, a proud overthinker and unlike other systems experts who offer cookie-cutter solutions, I focus on understanding the current state of the individual business models and implement sustainable systems tailored to each client’s needs.

You ask, was it easy? Absolutely Not, I have traveled the emotional roller coaster more than once. But what I have learned from the most successful people is that you learn more from your failures than you do from your wins and I agree with that wholeheartedly. You just have to navigate through the obstacles and keep a strong network of people around you who will help you navigate.

I am most excited about the evolution of AI and how we will be incorporating that into our business model now and in the future. But furthermore, I want the world to know that we are committed to helping small to midsize businesses grow and scale sustainably with systems and automation and also we strive to be the #1 remote workplace for single women so they do not have to struggle with transportation, daycare and the expenses and stress associated with commuting to a job.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite spots in the city is the Krog Street Tunnel and Area. I am originally from Cleveland Ohio and moved to Atlanta in 2021. The Culture and Atmosphere there is amazing to me.

The next place we would visit is the Atlanta Beltline there are so many things to do in one concentrated area.

For a chill laid back day I would visit Town at Trilith, it is more of my speed.

Last but never least would be to visit Atlantas Black Wall Street. From Karaoke nights to Jazz concerts to Business seminars and amazing shopping, you can’t lose there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, I first want to recognize GOD because without him none of this will be possible. Next my father, who crafted, molded and guided me into the person I am today. My daughters who support me and encourage me to continue fighting and striving no matter what. My business coach Jarvis Gray who has been instrumental in my success. My Good friends Katherine Caligone and Kelly Holmes, who are there for me through business and personal challenges.
