We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Golden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what do you want your legacy to be?
As a marriage and family therapist, I want my legacy to be the impact I left on the world by helping others improve their mental health. I want people to remember that I always showed up, I loved everyone unconditionally, I spread positivity and my internal light. I want people to continue to spread love in this world because that’s what keeps us all going. We all just need someone to listen, to care, and to show up for us when we need a hand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a pre-licensed marriage and family therapist at Open Door Talk where I specialize in seeing kids, teens, and young adults. Growing up I was always the “therapist friend” of my friend group, so I knew this was something I wanted to do. I love being able to help others navigate life’s challenges. I came from a home where crying was unacceptable, you always have to be strong, and mental health wasn’t prioritized. I want to change the stigma that mental health isn’t important. I am excited to be in a field where I am making an impact on the world one client at a time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestfriend was to visit me for a week, we would literally go everywhere we possibly could. I would take her to North Point Mall to shop, we would go hiking at Indian Seats (Cumming, GA), and we would find a Paint and Sip place. I would take her to The Vault in Atlanta, Palms 78 in Alpharetta, GA, we would walk around The Battery, go to the movies, go visit a local museum, go horseback riding, and ride on ATVs.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout-out to the owner of Open Door Talk, LLC, Michelle Pintado, LCSW. Getting a job out of college was a challenge for me and without experience people don’t want to take a chance on what you can do for their company, but Michelle did. I am so grateful to be a part of an amazing organization that cares and has that burning passion to help the world like I do. Michelle is selfless, hardworking, and is a great mentor. Thank you so much Michelle for everything you’ve done for me so far!!
