Meet Sunny Newsom | Mobile Bartender / Owner of SunnySips

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sunny Newsom and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sunny, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well it was during COVID, I was laying around and I saw everyone starting their own business, so I’m like let me join them but what should I do? Boom, I got it bartending, making drinks! Then SunnySips was born.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Currently, I’m transitioning into the corporate life. I currently work as a Data Entry Specialist, and before this I was working at the county jail. Between then and now, I’ve learned so much. I’ve graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal Justice. I can sum it up in 1 word: Resilience.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First spot would definitely be Harold’s! I’m from Chicago so I’m definitely a huge fan of them. I’m also into trying new things so I would suggest axe throwing or skydiving. I know for a fact on Saturday we would drive to Macon to visit Vibez! That’s the home team!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom! She’s been with me every step of the way! Ofcourse, Atlanta Bartending School, and lastly my mentor Talley!
