We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayy Perk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jayy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
All my life I’ve been a risk taker. Risk is what made me , ME. At the end of the day without risk, there is no reward and I live by that everyday.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
First of all being in the music industry is not easy. You have to stand out and be different from the rest. Me being able to let my true emotions fly out into the wind on a song or let out my true feelings as a man out on a beat, sets me apart from most. I’m excited that I get to share my life experiences with the world and relate to those around the world who are possibly, going through or went through the same exact thing I did. I love inspiring people. It was not easy to get to where I am now even though there is much more ground to cover, it took a lot of hard work and dedication to get here. Lots of sleepless nights and believing in myself even when everybody laughed at me or didn’t take me serious. And Even Then, I still believed. No matter what I always stayed true to myself and that’s the most important part for you, because nobody can take that away from you, NOBODY can take YOU, away from YOU. I learned that as long as you stay true to who YOU are and as long as you believe in yourself, set goals for yourself , you will acheive anything you want in this life. You can literally do anything you set your mind to doing, you just have to believe that you can. You have to see the vision. Everybody is not gonna see the vision like you in the beginning, you have to make them believe. I just want the world to know that it’s OWIU ( ONLYWAYISUP) forever. The only way is up to the top , as long as you keep inproving day by day, that’s all that matters. As long as you keep your head UP and not down everything will be okay. I want everyone to know that things get better , no matter how hard things may seem or get , there is always sunshine after a stormy day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For those looking for good food spots, you have to try shake shack. That is a must most definitely. Shopping is a must when I’m the city, you have to check out Lenox and philpps Plaza. The Skies the limit really with the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to say shoutout to my family , without them I wouldn’t be who I am. Them pushing me when the pressure got too much and then cheering me on from every angle , i just wanna acknowledge and give a little credit where it’s due.
