We had the good fortune of connecting with AnimaeNoctis (Silvia Marcantoni Taddei & Massimo Sannelli) and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AnimaeNoctis (Silvia Marcantoni Taddei & Massimo Sannelli), looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
As we are a duo, our answers sum up a dual thought. There is a girl called Silvia and a guy called Massimo. Silvia was born in 1994 and was raised in the typical educational system of Italy: lots of information, but no frame to contain them. And lots of study, but no peculiar paths to become who she actually is. Massimo was born in 1973 and began writing poetry, was called one of the best poets of his generation, then he understood he was a sensitive sick boy in a literary cage. So he disavowed all of this. In 2019, we met, became a couple and an agency too. Do you want to know what was the most difficult decision for both of us? Well, it was transforming 2 people from the middle class into skilled, multimedia, transnational runaways without any predictable future. But even if future is not predictable when you flee your condition, there is still a future: a dual one in AnimaeNoctis duo.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Dear World, above all, we do love you! And so we have a letter for you. It sounds like our beloved Emily Dickinson. But why not? So we do have a letter to the World. First of all, we practice a wide set of arts and are used to work hard with body and mind. We invented a pair to be pards because none of us was able to boost a potential in his/her loneliness. It takes lots of strength to film the dozen of movies your mind is pledged to, it takes lots of strength to record all the music that invades you. That’s why we are 2: AnimaeNoctis, e.g. Souls Of The Night in that scary unspoken language called Latin. We escaped an unhealthy night and discovered that “it takes 2 be 2 people 2 be”. It’s some Pasolini. It means that it takes a double potential to be a complete potential. Dear World, we are Elves working as Dwarves after a complex set of inner and external diseases: feel free to enjoy the huge variety of our daily amuseable avantgarde. If our self-healing rocks, maybe it can leave organic traces in you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you want 2 Sagittarius people to be your travel guides, your travel will have no end. But if you want us to suggest an itinerary, there are 3 completely different places in the world that are our fancy path: Lomé in Togo, Odzaci in Serbia, New York City in the USA. We have been working as performers in these cities and we think Western people need to sum up the differences and then invent a collaboration. The best thing is always collaborating and being site-specific.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
