We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenn Cathers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenn, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
My motivation comes from bad-ass women, who are searching for a transformation; not just the physical transformation but a total overhauling of how they view themselves. It’s time for women to see themselves the way their family and friends see them: beautiful, powerful, fearless, and strong. I love watching the power in women who are realizing their own divine femininity right in front of me; as they turn from awkward to empowered beauty through loving their own bodies. I believe it’s the experiences that emerge in a comfortable and safe session that remind us who we really are. Life is beautiful, but it’s also busy and sometimes gets the best of us. This experience reminds you who you are. That inspires me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My photography style is full of vulnerability. It’s beautiful to see the layers peel back when people start to discover who they are. Photography is creating sacred stories using photographs as the catalyst. Boudoir photography is a form of self-love that I believe you will not find anywhere else. It’s intoxicating, empowering, and it’s highly addictive. I have photographed 100’s of women, all shaped and sized differently. We have over 2200 sq ft of judgement free space, 100’s of lingerie items, shoes, props, and so much more. We change sets frequently and are always introducing new styles to change it up. By having my own space it really allowed me to grow as an artist. Almost 100% of our business comes from word of mouth, without our amazing clients trusting us with this intimate session – we wouldn’t be open. I’ve met so many incredible women that I am blessed to call clients and friends.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would def plan a day doing a wine tour. It’s something I’ve never done, but any time I’m at a winery I see gal’s doing the tour and having so much fun! I am also a big fan of Helen, so a weekend of ourdoorsy things (horseback riding, zip lining, hiking) + site seeing and partaking in the local festivities would be amazing. Locally, we love downtown Buford. 37 Main dueling pianos, dinner at Aqua Terra or Tani Thai, drinks at Tannery Rowe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve shot boudoir since 2008. Until 2017 I was “on the road.” I shot clients at their homes, my home, hotels, etc. In 2017 I got a wild hair and wanted to have a studio. I wanted to get rid of all other photography services (wedding, family, infant, etc) and focus 100% on boudoir. My husband supported my crazy idea and we rented a space. Without that support and his business background I wouldn’t be where I am as an artist or business woman.
