We had the good fortune of connecting with Thee Twin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thee, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My business idea sparked from my experience being in the field of mass communications. I always wanted to be in the entertainment industry and radio/djing helped bring it full circle. I grew to appreciate visuals more and the editing process in college at ECSU, but I never knew that audio and visual services would be what is today. Marketing requires both audio and visual services to promote a produce or service and every business needs it. Also being a dj is great because everyone lones having a good time to good music.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Creating the audio and visual projects for small businesses and nonprofit organizations help keep my business going. Then I am often booked to provide dj services for these businesses and nonprofit organizations celebratory events. What sets me apart from others is that I love the community from which I serve and it shows in my work. I am excited that I have been able to be in the business of mass communications for over 10 years and still have a burning desire to keep going further. I took the time to learn me and what I bring to the machine more than what the machine can bring me. This process has been far from easy, many times I wondered if my purpose would truly bring me the profit I need to sustain. I’ve prayed and God has help guide me to see it through day to day when times were tough. I would tell anyone just getting started in pursuing their dreams with no money, ‘In the beginning we all had to thug it out until we got it”. I am just a guy from a small town with big dreams and a even bigger God that has blessed me to get this far, with much more to come.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Monday, we would check out the Canal Trail which is one of our biggest tourist attractions in the area and end at Weldon Mills to grab a bite to eat along with a nice drink. Tuesday, we would go to Scotland Neck to visit the Bird Park and after we would dine at Don Juan for Taco Tuesday. Later that night we’ll attend R&B Tuesdays at Cj’s Bar & Lounge. Wednesday. its hump day so we would go to Logan’s for lunch and spend the evening hanging out at the bowling alley. Thursday, we would get Italian food from Pino’s and check out a movie at the theater. Friday is where things get live, I don’t do much until I hit the bar at Applebee’s or 51 Sycamore. 51 Sycamore is definitely the move for the city on a Saturday nights also or you can head to Rocky Mount to turn up at any bar and lounge.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank God first and foremost and my grandmother Rosa Claboine. My grandmother was always there even when my mother Mildred wasn’t around. She never gave up on me in all the things I went through in life, I wasn’t the innocent boy in my youth. Education changed my life tremendously and college helped me learn to network along with multitask. When it comes to radio experience I have to give a shoutout to WRVS 89.9 and 99.5/105.9 Jamz for the oppurtunity to grow as a personality and dj.
