We had the good fortune of connecting with Myada Baudry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myada, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
I think people commonly mistake treehouse building as “easy.” What people do not realize is the importance of having a deep knowledge and understanding of how to use the treehouse attachment hardware properly and how the construction impacts the tree(s). The most common misconception of all is that treehouse building kills or harms the tree. When the appropriate hardware and knowledge is applied, the tree remains unharmed and continues to grow. In fact, after a few years, we often see that the tree has grown beautifully around the treehouse attachment bolt, treating it as an artificial branch. Nature is truly fascinating! We are tree lovers at the core, and we always use the best practices to ensure that the superstar of our build remains healthy.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are one of the only companies in the southeast that specializes in treehouse construction. We are unique because all of our structures incorporate trees or are actually attached onto the tree(s)! If a tree is not an integral part of the structure, it is not a treehouse! We also build suspended bridges, canopy walks, playgrounds, and install ziplines. We design all of our custom builds in-house, as well. We are unique because we have a full-time crew of skilled carpenters dedicated to building beautiful treetop structures all over the United States! We are a small family-owned business, and we love to serve fellow families to build their dream treehouse. Whether it is a kids treehouse, a vacation rental, or a commercial playground, we make our clients’ dreams a reality. They say to dream big…but in our company, we dream high 🙂 “Dream High, Build a Treehouse!”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely hit the Beltline for lunch, brewery hopping and site seeing. I think for people who do not know our city, parking at Krog Street Market and making your way up the Beltline to eventually end up at Piedmont Park is a stellar way to spend a day under the sun in Atlanta! I’d probably grab a bite at Lady Bird or Bar Taco, stop for a beer at New Realm Brewing, and definitely hit Ponce City Market for another drink, shopping and maybe a King of Pops popsicle 🙂 A lot of our family from out of town really appreciated the MLK museum, which I think is definitely a must-see at some point during the weekend too (not to mention the National Center for Civil and Human Rights is so good too).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I could select TWO superstars to dedicate my shoutout to it would be Nicolas Baudry, my husband and co-owner of our business, and Maxime Risch, our general manager.

(1) Nicolas had no background in treehouses, let alone construction at all. But, he has always had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, and he motivated me to take a chance and go into an unconventional direction of leaving our stable traditional jobs to start a treehouse business. He motivated me then, and even more everyday now. His leadership and grit are some of the biggest contributing factors to the success of our business.

(2) I would also shoutout to Maxime Risch, the reason we have this business to begin with. Max is an expert in treehouse construction. Aside from his carpentry skills, his creativity, intelligence, trust-worthiness, and problem-solving skills in this very unique business are extremely rare. We are very lucky to work with him everyday.
