We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Hughes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always had a love and a passion for Production and the entire process, it wasn’t until I went to college that the love got stronger! When I graduated from college in 2020, the pandemic was in full effect. Everything was shut down, I had an internship with Windy City Live, that got cancelled due to the pandemic, my graduation got cancelled due to the pandemic… it was just chaotic and disappointing. When I graduated college, it was and (honestly still is) hard to secure a job in the field. It feels as if no one wants to give you a chance. Everyone wants you to already have experience, how am I gonna get experience when no one wants to give me a chance? That’s when I took it upon myself to create the opportunity for me! I started doing Videography full time in 2021.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to think what sets me apart from everyone else is my drive. Once I have a goal I want to reach, it is tunnel vision from there on out. I’ve noticed at a very young age that I do not see the world like everyone else. You could give me and another individual the same directions, and the way I interpret it and how I create with that direction will not be the same as anyone else. People used to call me weird for it back in elementary school, now I look back and I like to think that was my creative juices just getting activated hahaha. The journey is still going and it is never easy, but I’m most proud of how far I have come and how I have grown as a creative.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I’m in ATL, my absolute favorite things to do are visit Centennial Olympic Park and ride the scooters starting from there. I also love me a good brunch spot, my fav ATL brunch spots are The Hive and The Linnethia Lounge. For the night life, I enjoy a good club section. If we don’t have a section, I won’t be in attendance. I like Allure Atlanta. Other than that, I love doing fun things such as arcades, amusement parks, ATV riding, roller skating, etc. So some little “kick it” spots would be Malibu Norcross, Slingshot Social, The Complex, The Battery, The Groove, Beat the Bomb, and Ponce City Market just to name a few.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to all of my models that have worked with me religiously back in Chicago, Ajane, Mieisha, and Daja! They are always ready to shoot, even when I SUCKED hahaha. They always make time to shoot with me whenever I need them and have helped me better my craft along the way. I truly am grateful for those ladies!
