We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyra Gardner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyra, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?

As a full-time entrepreneur, I have experienced a shift in my life when it comes to achieving work-life balance. Nonetheless, I always manage to allocate 1-2 hours each day for activities that contribute to my personal well-being. When discussing work-life balance, it is crucial to remember that it refers to the allocation of time between work and personal pursuits. While this balance is significant, I find greater fulfillment in achieving work-life harmony. Work-life harmony involves integrating work or business into your life while prioritizing your own happiness, well-being, and needs. It entails engaging in self-reflection and considering your overall well-being, rather than striving for equal allocation of time between personal and work spheres, as emphasized by work-life balance.

What should our readers know about your business?

What sets me apart from other business owners in the field of therapy is that I am not only a psychotherapist, but I also specialize and certified in anger management specialist, trauma and addictions while being a Business Coach and Speaker. My goal is to merge mental health and business and to help understands when maintaining a business all eight pillars in life mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, social, spiritual, financial and environmental should be in total alignment for you to have peace within.

I created a business plan and as I add more components to my business I update my plan to reflect the new streams. Has this been an easy process, No, but I am true to what I do and committed to make everyone whole.

Lessons I have learned along my journey are:
1. Being happy never goes out of style.

3. Please yourself before pleasing others
4. Live, Love hard and Laugh Alot

I would like to ShoutOut, Morris Brown College, Atlanta, GA. I’d like to express my appreciation for Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA, where I began my journey and discovered my true voice. As a psychology major, I take pride in being a distinguished alumnus from the class of 1994. My time at Morris Brown College was truly invaluable, as it provided me with an exceptional education from esteemed professors and allowed me to form lasting friendships that I hold dear to this day.

Morris Brown College has been through a lot these past 20 plus years and to have a #TheHard Reset with regaining accreditation and financial aid restored this institution is back and will be better than ever.
