We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve wanted my own business ever since I worked for an online business about 10 years ago. I first started an online business with a friend in my early 20’s where we focused on women’s apparel. It had a good run but we had a lot of life changes that made it difficult to continue business. After I had my son in 2021, I made the decision to leave my day job to be home with him. Since, I am a boy mom, I realize there is a limited selection of cute apparel for boys. That was one of the reasons I decided to start The Tiny Tantrum. I’ve always had a desire to find unique or pre-trend fashion for myself. Now, I am able to take that creative skill and apply it to baby and toddlers.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My line of work is online retail. I try to focus on sustainable/natural brands because its so much better for our skin. Its also better for our environment. I’ve worked in healthcare for roughly 7 yrs, so I feel that has helped with being personable with my customers. I am really caring and I genuinely want the best for others. I make sure to treat others the way I would expect to be treated or beyond that. Starting my own business certainly has not been easy! I went back to working from home full time in healthcare last year to help fund my new business all while taking care of a 1 year old. That is definitely a juggling act!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I was in my early 20s, I spent a lot of time in the city or in Buckhead. Since moving to Alpharetta, I don’t venture out too much. I really enjoy going to Avalon. There is a good mix of eateries and shopping if I want to stay close to home. I think a really fun to go with an out of state friend/relative would be going to the Beltline. Depending on the season, I’d definitely go to a Braves game and hang out at the Battery.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shoutout my community. I have received a lot of support from local businesses and friends. It’s important to me to support other small businesses and to pass it forward!
