We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Tyrone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andre, how do you think about risk?

It has taken me years to be completely comfortable in my own skin and comfortable with my voice, over the years I am consistently told that I have a beautiful voice, yet my musical peers cast me to side because I don’t sound like them, I remember I was invited to sing at an event July of 2019 the promoter called me and asked for a special song request and then asked me if I could give more with the performance, I asked what do you mean, and he said “I need more riffs and runs”

I was shocked! I asked was my voice not good enough, he stated that it was fine but he wanted a show! The next day I emailed him and suggested that he find another singer, I stated that I sound they way I do because it’s me and if that was not enough than we are not a match, this promoter is well know in Atlanta, I knew it was a risk because he could be the reason I never step foot on stage again, and for a couple of years because of his review of me I wasn’t booked. It hurt but I knew what I did was right.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

What sets me apart! I work better under pressure, I am the kind of artist that will write a entire song, go to the studio not like what I wrote and write a new song on the spot. On my new project there are some songs that have been re-written during recording.

I believe I got to where I am by “keeping who I am” never changed the core of who I am, yes I change my hair, clothes and shoes, but inside I’m a goofy, passionate nerd who loves to sing about past, present and future journeys. Has it been easy no!  I have been passed up and overlooked by others for years because I won’t conform, I can only capture the audience by bringing them with me on stage emotions that connect with every word I sing.

I have learned over the years that it’s ok to take your time with YOUR music, and if you don’t like a song at the time, cool! keep it and see how it matures. I have learned that being a storyteller taking the audience on an emotional journey is what I live for, my purpose.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, we would go to the civil rights museum, Atlanta is known for its historical history, then we would eat at Delilah’s Everyday Soul” they have a Fried chicken Po Boy sandwich that is finger-licking good! Then we would hit up Six flags over Georgia you can’t come to Ga and not visit Six Flags, then we would get changed and head to one of the best spots ever the historic Apache Cafe good music and good food! Then to end the night we would visit the spot where I first hit the stage Cafe 290 in Atlanta the vibe there is electric.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
