Meet Shronda Armstrong | Talk Show Host | Magazine Creator | Purpose Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shronda Armstrong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shronda, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Life isn’t easy. There is no way to sugarcoat it. Being an entrepreneur is far from easy. In order to stay motivated to never give up, it is important to own our feelings. We can admit that there are rough days. We can admit that sometimes the funds may not match the work. We can admit that the support may not always be there. What we can do next after taking ownership and accountability of our feelings is to make a bold effort to stay positive in spite of. We can find the silver lining in our circumstances. We can have an attitude of gratitude. We can have the mindset of winning. Once we truly embrace believing in ourselves, we have the ability to combat the circumstances in our lives and understand that quitting is not an option.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I created Geaux Queen in 2019 when I was swimming at the bottom of a thankless career. I wanted more for myself. I made a simple Facebook post encouraging women. Then I decided to place a slogan on a shirt: Geaux Queen: Privilege, Prize and Package. Then after some time, I crafted an entire brand around that affirmation with my message of self-love that manifested itself into an audio podcast turned q and a virtual talk show, a branding consultation and purpose coaching agency and print/digital magazine. I have had the pleasure of interviewing Raheem DeVaughn, Chrisette Michele, Novi Brown, Margaret Avery and so many others all because I decided to follow my dreams.
None of this has been easy. Naturally change as a whole brings in a new set of challenges. I had to make sacrifices to build my dream. Brand building is a daily process. I just want the world to know that Geaux Queen is about highlighting women of color in a world that constantly tries to find fault with us. We are descendants from royalty and my mission is to put the spotlight on the women who are making their marks in this world in spite of.
The lessons that I have learned is to stay focused. have a goal in place, and never give up. I also learned the importance of being around the right people. In order to grow, you have to stay close to people who sincerely support you, cheer for you and want you to win. It is also important to be around likeminded people that have a winner’s attitude and do not exude negativity.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
In Atlanta, I would say what I enjoyed the most in my visits is going downtown. The Centennial Olympic Park is in the center of some great spots to just relax and enjoy the scenery. I also enjoy the Buckhead Art Company!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out Tammy Reese of Visionary Minds. Tammy is a phenomenal multimedia professional who has mentored and motivated me on a practical daily basis. She is a beautiful person and a great friend to many. She believes in me and continues to motivate me throughout my journey.
