We had the good fortune of connecting with Myeisha Barber and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myeisha, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal is to be financially stable and mentally happy with the career I chose. It’s a hard career when a lot of people don’t believe that social media can be a job. I want to be making my own schedule and working for myself. I want to be able to wake up at my own time and be able to do what I need to do whenever.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a social media influencer and a YouTuber. I plan out content that I feel would look good on my channel or platform. But recently I’m most proud of hitting 400 subscribers on my YouTube channel. I’ve worked so hard to get to where I am now and I couldn’t be more happy and grateful to those who helped me. It’s never easy to go after your dreams especially when it’s people who believe your dream is just a “dream” and that it will never become a reality. But I shake all those negative thoughts off and keep going because it’s what makes me happy. I’m ready to do collaborations with brands and just make my career bigger than what it is now.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well for me, I love seafood, so I would definitely take them to a seafood restaurant. And since I am an influencer, it would be crazy not to take them to the selfie museum in Atlanta. But I’m not great at picking places to go! But they’ll have a great time with me regardless.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well at this moment, I can definitely say my boyfriend but he is the one that sent you guys to me. But if I had to choose anyone else, it would be Emmanuela.
