We had the good fortune of connecting with Ginga Soul and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ginga, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose an artistic career in hopes of helping others. Whether it be with their healing journeys or just their journeys in general. I’ve known since a young age that this is something I was brought to this earth to do. The more i progressed and began to build a community the more It felt meant to be. I also want to reach as many people as i can and be a reminder to them that they can go after the things they want. I want to let them know that If something was put in them they were equipped with everything they need to achieve those things. I want to be a voice for those who struggle with believing in themselves and feel small from time to time. I want to remind them of their strength and be that proof as I continue to choose to continue my journey. It’s not an easy one but nothing is easy. That’s why I’ll always choose the hard that produces.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe my voice and my writing sets me apart from others. If you were to hear my music anywhere you’d be like “Hey that’s Ginga!” I have such a distinctive way about what i create. I make space for me to be my most authentic self.

I am most proud of the community I’ve created so far just by being myself. I’m growing with supporters who genuinely love and support me.

To get to where I am today was not easy. mostly, mentally it’s been a challenge. Believing in myself is something I gotta work a little harder on to overcome everyday. My method of overcoming these things is gratitude and keeping a positive way of things. Instead of letting negative thoughts sit in my mind i turn them into positive affirmations. I also try to focus on the things I have and what i’ve been blessed with.

the biggest lesson i’m learning along the way is always keep faith. Other things are waviering but faith gone get you through anything.

I want the world to know that I’ve come a long way since I’ve started this journey and I will always choose to continue to keep going. I want others to use my story for inspiration to continue on their own journeys.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oooo okay! so I love karaoke and there’s this place here that I’ve been wanting to go it’s called Round one! they have bowling and arcade games as well. It looks like so much fun! I also love seafood boils so we would go to Juicy Crab one of my favorite seafood places right now. I would find open mics for us to attend and other music related events. like festivals or r&b brunches! which I recently found out about and I love brunches so I believe it would be a fun time. If you bottomless mimosas are included i’m in. I’m also a person who’s down to do at home things as well so like some wine and arts and crafts is such a fun and relaxing thing too. I’m always down to play video games as well. We can plan a beach day. we can pack up some towels and get some snacks and we can play music and relax on South beach. There’s also some museums and gallery we can visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many people to thank for how far I’ve come but to name a few. I wanna thank Courtney, Tomi, Kymani, Drew, Tash, and Ïnnü. I honestly believe without them I wouldn’t have made it this far in my career. I believe in the power of community and I have a strong one with them in it. From always being there giving me words of encouragement to giving me advice and just showing me genuine love and support. which is kind of hard to come by especially in this industry. It’s like a fuel for me to keep going. A fuel I find myself needing a lot of the times.
