We had the good fortune of connecting with Chinah Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chinah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The initial idea started as young as me being a child traveling the world with my mother who owned and ran several boutiques . I can vividly remember us living in Houston & we we’re always meeting vendors , in and out of different stores looking at high end fashion items . We went to Vegas to the magic shows to search for unique inventory,. We drove to New York on weekends to go the garment district and everything! So fashion and being girly is all i know lol .

Fast forward I wanted to create a business that would be a confidence booster and since i loved make up and anything sparkly I started creating my own lipgloss , lipsticks , and started making jewelry. I launched my website April 2019 and then began selling my products in a store front brick & Mortar during the pandemic . I’m still blessed to be storefront inside the “Entrepreneur Shoppe” today . I know my mom (Dove Powell) is proud , I’m still going and waking boldly in her footsteps . God rest her soul she transitioned last year after her battle with Covid .
I’m determined to keep going and beat all odds . Funding a business out of pocket with no handouts is not for the weak but I’m built for it

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m most proud because even as a small business we made it through a pandemic and never missed a beat . Sales never slowed down and we received so many reviews and S/O ‘s of how beautiful and confident out products have made them feel . I’m truly thankful for that

We have been able to ship to 26 states and even overseas 9 times . And we definitely couldn’t do it without the support from our local shoppers (thank you )

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well i I’m usually the traveling friend lol I’m always trying to catch a flight away . However if a friend came here I’d say let’s go to “Jag’s piano bar “ that’s my favorite restaurant. Or even Bravo ‘s for one of those delicious lemon martinis (yummy) an of course a little shopping at the Entrepreneurs Shoppe
