Meet Myra Danielle | Loctician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Myra Danielle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Myra, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Well as they say “I didn’t choose this life, it chose me.” It took a while for me to fully embrace this artistic life. I have always admired entrepreneurs but I never really seen myself as one especially in the creative field. Little did I know it was within me the whole time. From the age of 10 until now I have never stopped loving the artistry of hair. I remember doing cornrows and the style then was called “Iverson’s”. Styles have evolved in such a beautiful way some reimagined and others an original idea.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a Loctician, I am the artist and hair is my canvas. I stand on integrity not only for me but my clients as well. Doing what is conducive to the health of the hair and not always following the trend. My art may not always get acknowledged but it always leaves me feeling fulfilled. Not everyone is going to understand your vision, even if you were painting Mona Lisa. They may hate it today and love it tomorrow. Either way you have to believe in the vision and see it through. No one else can see what you see or create what you create. Go ahead and leave your mark on this world. Let others know you were here. It is all a part of your journey the good the bad, the ups and downs. Own it!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The thing I love most about moving to this city is the food. There is Hard Rock Cafe, Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft, Anatolia Cafe and KPop BBQ. We would definitely go to my favorite seafood spot, Spondovits, and grab a few buckets! Hit up Yo! Chef What’s Cooking? for their amazing lamb chops and secret sauce. Spend a day at The Battery, Little Five Points, and of course Atlantic Station has lots of things to do from food, bars, movies and shopping. I spent some time as a promoter here so I know the night life well. Shoutout to Monaco, Main Attraction Indy, Carisha The Diva, Stan Da Man and the entire Ugly Money. Oh, and the most fun thing to do is ride the electric scooters throughout the city!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I could not have made it this far without the full support of my family. They motivate me, push me, and most importantly love me. Not only are they my reason for working hard, but they are also the same people who push me when I don’t feel like working at all. Knowing they love me no matter what allows me the freedom of taking risks with less fear knowing I have my own little army behind me.
