We had the good fortune of connecting with Scotty Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scotty, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factors behind my success and the success of my brand simply put are synergy and customer service. Synergy of my brands has always produced greater results with my clients. As I am a personal trainer (Body by Scotty ATL) adding meal prepping to the services I provide just made the most sense. I knew that I was a person that enjoyed people enjoying my food so when it came down to it I knew that it was the most practical decision. Shipping of the meals also set me apart from other companies. Adding shipping allowed me to provide meals to people back home in Alabama, those with traveling jobs, and those who are here in Atlanta for work. I also allow clients to customize meal prep packages. So, I never really cook the same thing twice. Synergy of Body by Scotty ATL and Fueled by Scotty allowed me to provide meals to my training clients to expedite their results at a discounted price.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Fueled by Scotty is a premier meal prep service specializing in getting each client their specific macros, caloric needs, and dietary choices. We offer every kind of diet option that you can think of from healthy soul food to vegan. We also offer nationwide overnight shipping. The business grew very quickly as people seem to really enjoy that the food is well balanced and packed with flavor without going over the calories and macronutrients that they need each day. The proof is in the results. We prepare food for weight loss, weight gain and maintenance. It’s not easy, but it’s doable. In order to overcome challenges I challenged myself to take as many orders as possible. I also came up with a menu that could be easily manipulated for any kind of diet. Along the way I’ve learned that customer service, quality, and price point are the most important factors in operating a meal prep company. Managing all those things alone is a challenge, but it pushes me to go bigger each time. I’ve since added catering and private dinners to the roster of services I provide. Fueled by Scotty is the best thing I could have come up with to ensure that I reach the people that I want to reach. The objective of each of my companies has been to provide products and services that people enjoy and enhance their overall health.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was in town I would take them to one of my favorite spots, Ponce City Market when they touched down. It’s a place where you can go and have a blast with no itinerary. We’d go get Ramen at Ton Ton, drinks at Biltong, and more drinks at Ladybird. Through the week we’d check out two of my favorite coffee shops. My Coffee Shop is a wonderful Black-Owned/Woman-Owned coffee shop in Decatur. They have amazing Catfish and Grits, Basil Lemonade, and a an array of different coffees. For lunch I’d take them to Chef Rob’s in Sandy Springs to get some of their amazing oxtails. For dinner and a night on the town we would check out a cigar lounge in Sandy Springs, Havana Cigar Lounge that has an amazing Red Snapper dish.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout my dear friend, Sarah Busby of B the Buzz Agency, who gave me my start in the meal prepping industry. I used to be her personal trainer and she chose a specific diet where she needed help with recipes because she was a little unsure of how and what to do. We went grocery shopping ,and I ended up preparing the specific meals for her. She posted the footage, and inquiries started coming that day for my meal prepping services. I had no idea how it would go, but I threw myself into it. Now 2 years later we’re still growing. I wouldn’t have made it here without her. She’s encouraged me, as well, as prayed for and with me throughout this entire process. I can’t thank her enough.

I’d also like to recognize all of my loyal and long-time clients that have stuck with me through thick and thin. They have been amazing throughout this entire journey.
