We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebel Phoenix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebel, how do you think about risk?
Plunging into uncertain prospects can be extremely frightening. I have had a “love/hate” relationship with taking risks in my professional and personal life. As I have grown in life and experience I’ve learned that “risk” is just a synonym for “opportunity”. Once I realized that it was a matter of deciphering which opportunities were in my best interests!
I believe we cannot succeed without failure, but failing doesn’t feel good, so you must decide if taking the risk is worth the pain of failing and the reward of success.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a model and aspiring actress, I spent 5 years as a promotional model, but have recently branched out to include more opportunities. I am also a Content Creator, I have spent the last year attempting to spread awareness about the victims of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, the recovery of those affected, ways to implement healthy boundaries, and taking the time and effort to begin loving ourselves.
I spent 30 years believing the reality created for me by a Narcissist. I was depressed, angry, guilt-ridden, and living a lie! I struggled to survive, stuck in a perpetual state of fight or flight!
After some time spent on healing, I began to focus the love I had been giving to others, on myself. I began meditating on the changes I wanted to see happen, giving my emotions validation and somewhere to go. I began accepting myself!
Today, I am getting further away from my “comfort zone”, I have accomplished achievements I never believed possible before, including working on television shows and movies, booking photoshoots, and even walked the Runway, despite only standing 5’4″.
My Brand mission is to inspire women and men, especially those who have suffered any kind of abuse, to accept themselves, stop blaming themselves, and, above all, to LOVE THEMSELVES!!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My Favorite Spots in the city of Atlanta include; Midtown- Where you can find the Fox Theatre, Botanical Gardens, and the High Museum of Art. You will also find the Vortex, a 21+ bar & restaurant that has the most amazing ambiance and a wonderfully fun and tasty menu!
We could also go to Buckhead for some shopping at Lenox Square, enjoy bowling at the Painted Pin, then visit the beautiful marine animals housed at The Georgia Aquarium!
Or we could go to brunch at the Sweet Potato Café on the way to Stone Mountain Park, where we could go hiking, boating, or just enjoy the activities at the park.
We could even check out a car show or race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, test our luck at an Escape Room, visit I-fly for indoor Skydiving, or check out Underground Atlanta for amazing food and entertainment!
I love living in Atlanta, as there is always something to do!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people in my personal and professional life I owe a shoutout to; my children, and a couple of mentors, but if I have to select one person… I would shout out Andrew “Lobo” Hollyday, Owner of Wolf Works LLC.
If not for the support he has given, I think it would have taken me a lifetime to find the confidence to build my brand and strike out on my own.
