We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monique, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was the importance of financial freedom while creating generational wealth. When I started, I was mainly focusing on increasing revenue and paying off debt. In order for me to have done this, I took a small investment and wrote down a plan of action. Starting a business is way more in-depth than one would believe but during that time it was worth exploring the journey and take on risks as they arrive. I knew that if I wanted to stop living paycheck to paycheck, I had to make a huge decision. My decision was to use my degree in Business and applied it to establishing Love Forever Ambitious Beauty, LLC over 10 years ago. Very grateful for the highs and lows of starting a business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Love Forever Ambitious Beauty, LLC also known as Love FAB was established in 2011. Our mission is to encourage ambition, self-love and empowering individuals to see the beauty of pursuing a successful life. Initially, the first layer of the company is accessories available for all diversities and cultural backgrounds. Accessories include necklaces, earrings, bracelets, hats and caps, bags and more. The instant rapport built when connecting with individuals whether spiritually, professionally or personally is priceless and what I’m most proud of.

I would have to give my mother credit for getting me where I am today. She was very business oriented, which I strongly admired. I was trained on handling important business tenaciously. There are no short cuts to anything, you must work hard and be determined while at it! No, it was not easy, there are a lot of late nights, early mornings and serious consistency. I started meditating and taking a healthier approach to overcome the challenges faced.

Lessons learned would include the importance of networking, creating legal binding contracts, and discernment. Networking is the most important role in having a business, you can’t expect potential clients without build connections. Legal Binding contracts will keep unlawful circumstances during business interaction. Lastly, discernment requires you to be alert and questionable when doing business.

I want the world to know that my story behind the brand is no matter what obstacles come my way I’m open to the journey of helping others pursue personal development while creating and seeking professional platforms and live abundantly.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friend comes to Savannah, Georgia, I would take her on River Street. It is beautiful historic area that includes so many things to do! We would go on Trolley tours, visit the local shops to include River Street Sweets, they have the best pralines and so much more. There are several rooftop restaurants and each day we can chose a different place to dine. Savannah is known to have the best seafood in the area. Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Musuem, Savannah College of Art & Design buildings and Forsyth Park to name a few would be places to explore. Tourists love to come to Savannah, and it will not be hard to find something to do. I’ve been touring my city all my life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is no doubt that I would not be where I am in business after all these years if it wasn’t for each and every person, group, organization, as well as authors that attributed my success. Instead of naming any one in particular, I would like to shoutout my city Savannah, Georgia for believing in my entrepreneurial pursuits from the beginning. I have received so much support and encouragement from a plethora of people along the journey, they know who they are! However, I will say that my Coach/Mentor Carolyn Milton wrote a book, “Trust the Process of Your Worth” that truly inspired me to have faith, be more patient and there is a process to pursuing dreams and aspirations, but you must trust the journey. I experienced the loss of my mother to cancer during a pivotal point in my life. Having the right people around to uplift and encourage you is very important.
