Meet Sean Van Wickle | Cinematographer & Photographer & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Van Wickle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sean, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I think about risk, I think about the doors it could open. Taking a risk can be very scary, but rather than letting the fear control me I think about the positives that will come in the future. Keeping this thought process with me through the years has helped me continue to grow and learn and that is exciting to me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art has always reflected what is going on in my life. I started my photography with wildlife and nature photography at my house and where I would travel. Then I started to do portraits, but they were of my friends when we would go places. Now I am starting toward storytelling within my portraits. As for my filmography, I have always chosen to work on and create projects that reflect me as a person and that reflect the emotions I am feeling at that given time period.
I have gotten to where I am today by not letting my thoughts get in the way. I used to get in my head way too much and there were times that I thought about quitting, but every day I am thankful that I pushed past that because I am really starting to find my style and the stories I want to tell.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends came to Atlanta I would take them downtown to the World of Coca-Cola and the aquarium then we would go to Piedmont Park. I would also take them shopping in Little Five Points and we would hit a Braves game. The top restaurants that I would have to take them to are Ponko Chicken, Big Boss, and Choong Man Chicken.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out to my family, especially my mom and dad always supporting me. I would also like to shout out my high school film teachers, Mr. Ferone and Mr. Noble for introducing me to film and creating a loving environment in the studio.
