We had the good fortune of connecting with DeneQuia Able and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeneQuia, what’s the most important think you’ve done for your children?
I feel as if I’ve shown them that anything is possible . We own a party rentals business we’ve started for them to take over . Our goal is to leave them something they can could have as their own that’s sustainable and financially rewarding . Also, in fulfilling my dreams as singer I pray they work towards their dreams and never give up on themselves as I plan to never give up ok myself or them .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come with my music . I feel like I’m only getting better with time vocally . The music I write is conscious music I want you to be inspired or uplifted that’s my hope I prayer for those who listen to my music . I’ve come along way it took a lot of growth and a true self love to get where I am mentally and emotionally. I’ve learned to let God lead my steps and to not hold on to anyone who wants to be set free. I want the world to know that I’m human , I feel, I hurt, I make mistakes, And I learn from people and situations around me . I’m not ashamed of being me because God is leading me to something far more greater than any man or woman can ever offer or lead me . I’m grateful for my true supporters and I love them . Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Atlanta, Ga so if a friend was visiting we’d most likely go eat out at a restaurant. I love taking folks to Juicy Crab in Smyrna . For one, I’m from Florida originally so seafood well shall I say blue crabs or crab legs is something I have to eat atleast once a month . So we’d go there eat , talk and reminisce and enjoy each other’s company. It’s always truly a Blessing to spend time with folks you’ve know most of your life they tend to understand you better . So there’s no need to explain what’s already understood.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my journey to my late parents my mother Joyce Riley & My father Dennis Towns and my late brother Pierre . They believed first in what Gods purpose for me was in this life way before I fully believed in myself .
