Meet Ashya Jordan | Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Strategist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashya Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashya, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work life balance for me over time escalated into work with no balance. It essentially is a balance of life. An unbalanced life can become toxic or unhealthy mentally and physically. We incorporate jobs, relationships, social life, and whatever each person deems as value or a priority. What I’ve learned is that it’s okay to step away to regain or establish balance. It took time and change in behavior patterns but most importantly acknowledgment and acceptance with the determination to make changes. For me to reestablish balance was self work that leads to self-discovery and growth. So be gentle with yourself and have grace.

Lunch and dinner often overlap, especially with good company. My recommendations include: Tassili’s Raw Reality Cafe, Negril Village, Continent Restaurant & Cigar Lounge, and Pappadeaux and if time permits I am excited to host a dinner. The experiences include: The Battery, a black owned farm tour, concerts and festivals if the weather permits, Rose and Rye, Space Jam, and a spa day. Most importantly

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I give all praise to the father, son, and Holy Spirit. I am blessed to have supportive loving family and friends, and to be a member of organizations that have encouraged and supported me. I am thankful for my life because my experiences are what contribute to my story and who I am.
