We had the good fortune of connecting with Ja’Mee Chanel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ja’Mee, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success/ brands/ entrepreneur journey has absolutely been nothing but God. Entrepreneurship is not an easy road at all especially for someone such as myself who’s juggling multiple businesses and life endeavors while all trying to maintain a healthy relationship with God. Over the course of the last two years I have accomplished so many goals and and visions that I prayed and manifested for myself. I am a firm believer that if you write it down, speak it, pray over it, and work towards it, you can have anything that you desire in life. I live by the Bible verse Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’”. I know for sure that God has been on this journey with me and it’s only the beginning.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am currently working full time at Us Bank while also running my teeth whitening and teeth gem business, creating fashion content, and growing my wardrobe styling business. I went through a season where I worked for myself full time for a full year and although I was blessed to be able to do so, I quickly realized that I wanted more income coming in. I believe that I am set apart from others because I am genuine to who I am and I don’t mind being honest about the journey that I’m on. I must say that I am most proud about the growth that I’ve accomplished with my content creating and opening my own suite. This year I collaborated with skims and that was such a major accomplishment to me to even be recognized by such a large brand and I am also approaching my own year anniversary with having my own suite for my teeth whitening and teeth gem business. During my journey I have learned that it ok to start over, it is ok to pivot, and it ok to fall short in certain areas in life, God would never put us through things to hurt us but only to strengthen us and prepare us for the next season in our lives. I want the world to know who Jameechanel is, I want people to know me for my fashion style, hard work, and my overall brand and what I stand for. I want people to know that things have not always been easy for me and I’ve faced so many challenges and losses within the last two years but in the end God will reward and give me double for all of my troubles. Jameechanel will be a success business woman.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am honestly a homebody lol but I would definitely step outside if my best friend was in town. We would start the weekend off at a cute bar in the city, get us some lemon drops, maybe a nice margarita, or a shot for the road lol. We would then go to either a nice lounge with great food, or a cute spot with nice indoor activities. Knowing us we would then leave our last spot and on our way home we find a Wendy’s or cookout to get a snack from. For the following day we would have a nice day brunch with lots of great food and endless mimosas and then do some shopping to Finish of the day. Before The Weeknd is over we would definitely have to find a karaoke spot lol that would really be perfect for us.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I feel that it would be only right that dedicate this shoutout to my family. I have such an amazing support system and I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish as much as I did without them. Special thanks to my amazing parents, they truly support me and believe in me and have helped fund so much for me and I am greatly appreciative of that. I love you guys so much and I genuinely appreciate y’all. To my amazing brother who supports me like no other, had it not been for him helping me with my content creating, graphic designing, and overall support with my businesses I wouldn’t be where I am today. I love my brother more then life itself and I want him to always know that I appreciate everything that he does for me . Special shout out to all of my loving family members and friends as well, to have genuine people in your corner is an underrated blessing.
