Hi Vempre, what do you attribute your success to?
Faith is the most important factor behind my success as an author. There have been so many times when success may never have entered my life, but holding onto faith kept me in the race long enough to achieve success. Having faith has shown me that what is a mess at low points in life becomes a message at high points in life. Combining my passion for writing with the faith that drives my spirit inspired me to write my first book, “The Eyes of Faith.” In this book, I encourage my readers to find the benefits in life’s hindrances so that blessings will unfold when all is said and done. It is easy to look at a situation and see how challenging that it appears, and to allow the view of that challenge to overshadow the greatness that lives within you. However, one thing in my life has shown me how to never let challenges limit me from achieving success: faith.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Writing serves as my freeing experience and the passion that I use for my escape. As well as writing being a spiritual release for me, it is also a tool that I use to positively impact the lives of others. Through writing books, speeches, songs, and poetry, I am able to release myself. Knowing that another person can read or listen to words that I have written and receive encouragement is a true blessing. My continuous love for written expression as a means for self-empowerment and helping to empower my readers and listeners is what sets me apart from others. Knowing that I can hear one word and have that one word inspire me to write an entire page of a book, a chorus of a song, or a large section of a speech is a blessing. It has not been easy to get my foot in the door as an author, and continuing to move forward is certainly not easy. Nevertheless, faith keeps me going. Knowing that all I need is faith the size of a mustard seed to help great things come about in my life inspires me daily. The best lessons that I have learned along the way in life are certainly surrounded by faith. On days when I have felt like there has been no reason to keep going, I have taken the time to write. In doing so, my desire to keep going would burst through me, and motivation to inspire others would flow through my words.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our itinerary would definitely begin with enjoying the well-known hotspots of downtown. Atlanta has an awesome downtown atmosphere, and I would love for anyone with me to have the chance to experience it. Following this, visiting Tyler Perry Studios comes to mind as something that would be a part of our checklist. Tyler Perry’s rags to riches story of his life is certainly an example of what faith can do, which stirs up my love of acting and faith as two reasons why I would love to bring someone here. Having a nice visit to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium is surely another place that would be on our itinerary. It is the home of the Atlanta Falcons and also a place where many well-liked events are held in Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt, my mother is certainly the person who I would like to give credit and recognition for helping me with my journey in life. She is a woman who taught me about the importance of faith, laid the path for my strong relationship with the Lord, and she made it her goal throughout my childhood to ensure that I always strive for excellence. Whether a day in my life flows with greatness or rains with hardships, she has instilled in me to look up to God for guidance.
