We had the good fortune of connecting with Kira Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kira, how do you think about risk?
I think taking risks is absolutely necessary for growth in any area of life. I was scared to start my business and thought I had to have it all together and it had to look a certain way. That really held me back in the beginning. I eventually decided to just take the risk and learn as I go. I’ve been loving the journey ever since! I would’ve never knew what I know now if I hadn’t taken the risk and pushed through my fears.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I make Custom Shirts, Stickers, Fans, Etc. What sets me apart is how detailed I am with each order. I make sure everything is as close to perfect as possible! I’ve learned along the way that marketing is everything! You have to put your stuff out consistently in order to get attention and make sales. Take pictures and videos of what you do/sell and post it! I want the world to know I’m a 21 year old mama & entrepreneur. If I can do it, so can you!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend coming into town I would start by booking a staycation at The Starling Hotel which is very chic, relaxing, & surrounded by things to do. We’d have a nice dinner at 5 church midtown. During their trip we’d also enjoy a nice dine in movie at Ipic theater. For nightlife, I would take them for drinks & dancing at Cru Lounge. We would do some shopping at Atlantic Station then hit up Rooftop LOA for a cute day party. Finally, we’d end the vacation with a bang by going to The Garden Room for an Instagram worthy dinner.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Man, Tyrek Frazier encourages me to push through my fears and become a better person daily! He’s my personal motivational speaker. My son, who is now 8 months old. He inspires me like no other! My Mom, Siblings, Aunties, My Entire Family, Friends, & Everyone in my life has contributed to who I am today. I wouldn’t be where I am without each and every person that’s in my life. ( I love y’all! )
