We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is God. God gets all the credit because He gave me my beautiful life. I’m grateful because He allows me the opportunity to full-fill my purpose everyday, and with Him, He has given me deep passion, a positive attitude & perseverance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m a SAHM that wears many hats. To keep it short for now I’m a philanthropist, educator and podcaster | Founder of the Flow Life Podcast. Honestly I’ve never been fond of labels because it’s self-limiting. I homeschool during the day & also tutor on the weekends. I take pride in educating myself and my community around me. Fun-Fact : I was so excited to finish college and receive my degree , but not once did I ever imagine being the entrepreneur I am today. College was just the beginning of my journey, I found out so many new things about myself.

I’m an active student of life. I’m constantly on a journey of enlightenment. It wasn’t easy at first transitioning into my career because I had worked so hard & long for another path until I realized God had bigger plans for me . I’m proud of myself because I’ve really stepped outside the box when it comes to traditions & my culture. It isn’t always easy being the first to do anything but it was very necessary that I did. I HAD TO! I remember God speaking to me saying a leader will have to stand alone & have faith. With this great power comes great responsibility & accountability. I had to MOVE when God told me to. I was OBEDIENT in times of uncertainty and I had to BELIEVE in myself before & regardless of others believing in me. Today, it gives me joy that I bet on myself and created my business and a brand that God can receive all the glory. I took time to really get to know the “real me”, and not the domesticated version of me that we all have come accustomed to within ourselves as a result of living in this world. I thank God for giving me strength everyday to push and break barriers by following my passions and the visions God gives me. I’m making history and setting the bar high for young women and men to inspire them to also be their authentic-selves despite what the world tells them or what they grew up expected to do.

I’ve impacted the lives of my family & friends where they too are empowered to follow their dreams no matter the cost. I’ve had to overcome a-lot of challenges of being the “only one”, doing what I do amongst others in my family or friends group. Some get it and some don’t, but they all are always curiously inspired by the amazing way I handle and balance life & work. That’s God’s grace honey because It’s not as easy as it looks. LOL.

I have more things I will embark on in my career, so I’m excited to continue this new journey.

I’ve always had a positive outlook on life because tomorrow isn’t promised. Proverbs 12:25 says: Anxiety weighs down the heart but a kind word cheers it up. I share positive experiences & self-improvement tips with the world. We all go through so much but the good news is that no matter what age you are, wherever you come from, you are never too young or old to follow your dreams. Just do it! Don’t overthink it! Have faith that you can and you will, no matter what obstacles come along the way. I want people to know I’m just a brave soul on a mission and if I can do it, so can you. Believing in myself was the best risk I ever took and it’s constantly elevating my way of thinking and living.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is hard to answer because it really depends on the vibe you’re looking for.   Atlanta is sooo big and there are so many fun things to do.  I love how diverse Atlanta is, so there are spots for everyone of all interests.  A week-long itinerary would consist of eating at some of my favorites , Wadada Healthy Market & Juice Bar,Slutty Vegan, Two Urban Licks, Ray’s on the River, Kevin Rathburn Steakhouse, Rock Steady, The Select & Rumi’s  Kitchen.  I can go on and on, there are tons of amazing spots to dine and vibe at here.  Live music is a must here so Piedmont Park is a vibe when they host jazz festivals & you can bring the whole family out there. The High Museum of Art is a vibe as well . They have date nights on Friday nights with wine & jazz music. If you’re looking for some fresh air you have to take an adventurous hike up Stone Mountain and watch the sunset & also visit all the amazing  parks Georgia has to offer.  I’m a nature girl so I’m constantly exploring new parks and taking hikes all around Georgia . I love Botanical Gardens I always recommend you stop there and the zoo & aquarium if you have kids . If you’re looking to relax and keep it cute my favorite spot is Chateau Elan Winery & Resort. It’s also AMAZING!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, my supportive & loving husband, my two amazing children , as well as my younger brother Daniel & my god-sister Danielle. These are all very special people in my life that give me love, support & inspiration everyday. They remind me to always follow my dreams no matter what. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. Overall, I’m truly grateful for everyone in my tribe & thankful that God continues to bless me with the right people at the right time .
